In my opinion this is only possible if God forced it to happen. The only point where I might part ways with the above description is
that I don't see people remaining opposed to God's love forever.
Everyone would fall in love with Him eventually (imo).
I do not believe in Hell, this rabbi does. Your mileage will vary between rabbis.
So where does any concept of hell come from in Judaism?
Just as I find the idea that one has to repent only for fear of punishment wrong, I also think it is wrong to only desire to repent for some sort of reward that is coming. Walking with God is its own reward. I need no other reason.
You do realize this is a strong element of Christianity?

"my reward [is] with me" (Rev 22:12)
First you have to get these guys to stop seeing all of Christianity as a European spa or bath house members only club. (I mean, we all know what part of Europe that is.) It seems virtually impossible, but I have seen some of them understand the whole picture sooner or later. OK, later. Which of course speaks to the OP.
I am really starting to enjoy this place.
Yes, the insistent repetition that God judges us based on our inability to believe versus the claim that God judges us for our sins (with the saved getting let off the hook).
No I don't. [find it strange to speak of a perspective of God] I speak in hypotheticals a lot of the time. I couldn't hold a position in this argument without using hypotheticals.
Though, if God is all-powerful and all-knowing then he could reveal himself to everyone with no questions asked.
Oh crap. That's means you'll be staying here right?
I respond to people who have God judging us based on our inability (or just flinging us into hell for it).razeontherock said:Yet you still have G-d Judging us based on our inability. (Or did I mess that up?)
I represent God only as theists on this thread represent him. You are not the only theist on this thread I have conversed with.Ok, but your basis of opinion for representing God a certain way is what?
None of the above matters. He still could reveal himself to everyone, with no questions asked if he chose to.That's not what we see. G-d revealed Himself to Moses not because of "no questions asked," but because Moses turned aside to see; to see a very ordinary sight that didn't develop into anything unusual for at least a few minutes. There was patience involved, and curiosity, and humility. There will also be things that need to be DONE, by us.
You are misrepresenting that. That is not reasonable to continue, for you to use as a source of bitterness on this subject.

Should I report this flame? This goading? Certainly you are departing from anything resembling an answer to the OP.
Hmmmmmmmm.
Oh I'm sorry, excuse me. The commonality of the atheist's Christian bashing here on this Christian website is surprisingly boring.
Nah, why report a st
No, no. No nastiness in return for nastiness. I said I would follow the rules here. (Unlike others.)
And all this responds to the OP.
With all the baiting you do here, I wonder how it is possible that you could take the moral high ground on this one. If you interpreted what BleedingHeart said as a flame then I really don't know what to tell you other than have you ever been on the internet before? You think THAT is a flame? Come on, man, chill.
Various sages and the like. If you get into the material, there are a lot of disagreements over the afterlife, but it isn't considered important doctrine. Keeping the Torah is the focus of all Jewish teaching.
Interesting, considering that you put as much effort as possible into trying to drive people away.
In keeping with the OP, I enjoyed your post (above) immensely.
STill being in a state of blessedness...you need to be living a moral life and close to God... Living a life according to God's law is a requirment for all Jews... in order to be blessed. That alone is indeed a reward is it not?
What are you implying?
I'm enjoying you guys. If some of you live Christian-like lives, I hope I will have the pleasure when time is no more, and does not mean I have to get some sleep.
My wife, over in the living room, keeps asking what I find so enjoyable to cause me so much laughter. Now, it is because some of you care so much about hell being avoided, it has to be a good sign for society at large. And THAT is an enjoyable side-effect of dealing with you atheists.
