How is it cheating to direct current longtime CF members who have actually served here to this thread? Asking people to join to vote is what would be cheating.

Actually also its the long time members who have the most invested in this site that should have the greatest opinion weight anyway imo.

This is exactly why voting here at CF doesn't work.

Not only do we have people here with multiple socks, but we have last minute registrations.

I am hoping that Erwin will not only look at the results but also at WHO voted (IOW, those people who have contributed by serving on staff, etc.).

Exactly Aria which is why only long time (many posts and active in many areas of CF) posters with a vested interest should be weighing in on voting.

The main reason also why voting on mod applications is a bad idea also.

The problems will remain. The troubles aren't going anywhere. The only difference will be who's getting their throats cut.

Well, kind of.

Basically we have a group of people that are asking to not be treated like dirt, not be called tools of satan, not be called "wolves and spiritual pedophiles" (a direct quote from someone) and all sorts of things. Essentially all we want is to quit being beaten with a stick.

Then we have another group of people want to keep beating us with sticks, keep treating us like second class citizens, because our mere existence is a threat to them. It doesn't matter that many of us are actual christians, nor does it matter that some of us act like christians but are not theists. Our behavior is irrelevant because no matter how we behave, we're a threat. If we have the gall to ask to be treated with basic respect, we're a threat. If we have a seeker who is interested in becoming a full-fledged christian, we're a threat. If one of us tries to remove God from the little box they've tried to keep Him in, we're a threat.

It's really, really hard to form a compromise between two groups when one of them simply can't deal with the existence of the other.

Are those in charge of CF your "masters" now? And if so, how on earth does your own vision of control amount to anything less? A kind master is still a master. I'm sorry, but it looks very much as though total an complete control is the only thing you can envision at this moment.
