Is site growth really the goal here?Thats right. You just hit the nail right on the head. It grew because of the way it was and not the way it is. Thank You for that wisdom !

I'm not trying to complicate it, and apologise if that's how it came across. I simply meant that you seem to imply that the only two groups of people that you're considering are Christians and the factious. As someone who is neither, I'm just interested in where I stand in your scheme.
Just not for me ? LOL Review your numbers again you have made an error. No offense Sun, but I don't think you really have those numbers on a day to day basis to make that kind of claim.
Some days on here are slower and less busy than others--Sunday especially. This is also late summer--lots of people are on vacations or about to go on vacations. You cannot link the new changes with not as many users online.
There is also nothing but your opinion saying that the site is not operating within parameters to allow positive flow of ideas. It seems to me you are just picking on the few negatives right now (as the new system first starts to work--there are always bugs in a new system) and are trying to say base your argument on that.
Or you just don't like the new system period and you are just coming up with "reasons" as to why its not working and why it should be taken down. If it really was not working and there was a big problem there would not be so many people opposed to all 3 options--so its working for some people--just not you.
Site growth of Christians or in general ? I think site growth of Christians is a very good cause .Is site growth really the goal here?
If it's at the cost of pushing the non-Christians here further from Christ, then I cannot in good conscience say that such growth would be worth it.Site growth of Christians or in general ? I think site growth of Christians is a very good cause .
There is no reason to have that cost at all. Option three opens up many possibilities to achieve this without losing anyone. If it's at the cost of pushing the non-Christians here further from Christ, then I cannot in good conscience say that such growth would be worth it.
But again, I'm not addressing the poll itself; I'm addressing the attitude behind those who voted for option 2 - effectively giving up on Jesus' Great Commission for the sake of a little convenience and temporary security. There is no reason to have that cost at all. I still do not think you can connect the 'drop in the numbers' to the 'New CF'. Its not something you can really prove I do not think--and to say so when there are other factors is unfair.Just not for me ? LOL Review your numbers again you have made an error.
As far as the daily numbers I started a log on them for my own business purposes as I was thinking of advertising here some time ago. I am pretty clear on the online numbers in general . It was not a scientific study of course.
Be Well...

You assume too much about the people who voted. Option three allows for all possibilities. No one said give up anything . Option three adds to the mix and does not detract from it.But again, I'm not addressing the poll itself; I'm addressing the attitude behind those who voted for option 2 - effectively giving up on Jesus' Great Commission for the sake of a little convenience and temporary security.
I, personally, don't see how we can call ourselves a Christian forum with such a lack of guiding principle.
There is no "option 3" on the poll yet; it's only hypothetical, and anyway, what I'm referring to is that so many so-called Christians, given the choice between option 1 and option 2, would choose 2.You assume too much about the people who voted. Where is this "Option 3"?
Yes that is correct. Option two would be or could be included in three . It allows for many options. Under the current question option two would be most favorable to most. There is no "option 3" on the poll yet; it's only hypothetical, and anyway, what I'm referring to is that so many so-called Christians, given the choice between option 1 and option 2, would choose 2.
Been there and done that ...Since nobody liked options 1 and 3, Erwin suggested an option 3, however, it is not defined and he was asking our input. Here is a thread geared for that topic.
What would option 3 look like
Looking at the poll results - I can't agree with you. There is no mandate expressed by this poll. The poll results are pretty much 50/50Yes that is correct. And I've explained why I think that's contrary to Christ's teachings.Yes that is correct. Option two would be or could be included in three . It allows for many options. Under the current question option two would be most favorable to most.
All the more reason for option three and my suggestions there.Looking at the poll results - I can't agree with you. There is no mandate expressed by this poll. The poll results are pretty much 50/50
Life is full of problems that is true. This at least attempts to address some. No one is perfect and no concept on this earth without fault. Improvement is a good objective. And I've explained why I think that's contrary to Christ's teachings.
My point is that this poll demonstrates that CF has much bigger problems than its staff and membership care to admit.

Well then time to get out there and teach and exemplify good . Also a good time to pray for direct intervention of Our Lord into these and all matters . Nothing is impossible with Him...The superficial issues that it may solve are eclipsed by the far deeper problem that a lack of principle poses to this supposedly-Christian community. Life may not be perfect, but that doesn't mean that you're excused from trying your best to live out Christ's message.
