What betrays your hopeful outlook for redeeming "emergence" as something useful is the first word in your quote: "However ..."; in the sense of "in spite of these criticisms".
I'm sure you'll be happy to know that the study and use of emergence is now widespread across a variety of fields in physics, biology, linguistics, social sciences, economics, finance, computer systems, networks, city planning, and more. It's really nothing mysterious. The wetness of water is an emergent property, as is crowd behaviour.

All of the above. Especially in lieu of the discussion in the thread. Your attempts at paraphrasing aren't paraphrasing; they're distorted fabrications.

For example, your claim about how "man became alive" was already addressed well early in the thread regarding the basic chemistry of living organisms. To claim that the response is "dunno, go ask someone else" is basically just a lie.

Basically, in content and intent.

Ha, sorry for the snark. Must’ve completely missed your intended irony.

Darn!
No prob., the above was delivered sans passion and
was just me being naughty.
Good you didn't take offense.
My apology too.
We's on the same side after all.

I think of language as an artifact related to evolution in about
the same way that music or archery are.

Prove me wrong ! :D

Lol. Wise’s employment requires he sign a “statement of faith” clause. That is to say, he cannot espouse views contrary to creationism, without fear of being fired and blacklisted in the creo community. He’s even stated that even if he thought evolution were true, he’d still profess his literal interpretation of Genesis. And although he holds legit degrees, he hasn’t done any relevant research in decades.

I read an article about ten(?) years ago mentioning how a smaller mandible and masseter muscle likely contributed to ability to vocalize a wider array of sounds.

This is another huge failing of creationists and religionists. We stand on the shoulders of others. There is no need to have to "see it for yourself." There is simply too much knowledge in the world to be able to study it all, learn it all and see it all for yourself. That's why we have the scientific method. If we all do our jobs, we can count on others to do theirs, we learn and advance without being bound to this... "did you see it for yourself" mentality. It allows you to specialize and advance far further than you ever could if you had to replicate every single experiment and observation for yourself. Yes, it also opens the door for someone to perpetuate a falsehood. There is no point to that. Unless you're living in a world where you know you're already doing that. Do you know anyone who's doing that? Say, the Ark Encounter? The Creation Museum? No wonder you're so skeptical of everyone.
All creo evidence that is a fake of some sort.
All of it.
Most creos must be honest people who
realize that, somewhere inside they know.

They would not be fooled by Paluxy man tracks
if presented as evidence for where to
invest their retirement money!

But sure, maybe. Who knows.

Read some Norm Chomsky for some theories to convince anyone
the mystery is so far from solved.

Lol is right.

His statement is the very definition of scientific dishonesty.

All I have observed is microevolution.

Define "microevolution".

In the context of the OP, have you observed in nature an animal reproduce a descendant that possessed a cognitive property not present in its parents?

How are you defining a cognitive property? And why cognitive specifically?

I mean, we know that during reproduction novel mutations occur and that these mutations can on occasion give rise to novel phenotypic traits. Unless you're suggesting that doesn't happen, I'm not sure where this is going?

I've only ever read Who Rules the World, by Noam Chomsky. Is he related to Norm?

Sorry to interrupt.

John McAfee found dead in Spanish prison cell.
Does this mean the "your mcafee subscription has ended" add will stop popping up on my computer now?

*too soon?
