In your particular example (nuclear disaster), because it affects us. It impinges on our lives.

Right, but when there's no lives to be impinged upon because everyone has died from the disaster, what's the point?

I'd hope this isn't a question that you just ignore because it does have meaning.

Your question makes little sense. You are talking about a situation in which there is no one to care and then asking "what's the point?" But that's not the situation we are in.

Right, it's a hypothetical situation that will happen if we take the view that all meaning giving beings will go extinct at some point in the future. Do you deny such a reality will happen? If not then what are the implications of that reality?

I do deny that a meaningless reality will exist because I believe God is a meaning/life giving being and that He will last forever.

This is an assertion. How would you know if you were wrong?

Which question.

Will a meaningless reality exist when all meaning giving beings die?

If so, why does what I do now matter or have meaning if the end result is meaningless?

I'd like to answer, but you'll need to define "meaning giving beings," for the sake of clarity.

How could it be meaningless if such beings existed?

It doesn't matter that they existed in the past, what matters is the reality where there are no meaning giving beings at all because they've all died.

It would be a meaningless reality and it's where reality is headed without God who gives meaning and life forever.

Lol, if you can't figure out what a meaning giving being is, then ask yourself if you yourself give meaning. If you do, then you've answered your own question.

Of course we give our lives meaning. Why wouldn't we?

LOL

Okay, now answer these questions:

Will a meaningless reality exist when all meaning giving beings die?

If so, why does what I do now matter or have meaning if the end result is meaningless?

Why doesn't it matter that they existed?

Because in order for it to matter, a being would have to exist to understand the meaning of it, but in this future scenario all meaning giving/understanding beings have died.

It's a meaningless reality devoid of all beings that either give or understand meaning.

In what way does that erase the meaning found in the lives of those beings?

The "end result" is not what matters. Life is not just an endless series of means to an infinitely distant future end that is all that matters. Life is an end in itself. To put it simply, it is the journey that matters, not just a last destination.

Because meaning vanishes when all meaningful beings cease to exist. Thus my questions:

Will a meaningless reality exist when all meaning giving beings die?

If so, why does what I do now matter or have meaning if the end result is meaningless?
