There are many layers to the fear of Death.
You may be afraid that you are going to die because of your soul, but it may never occur to you that you are afraid in your mind as well, then you might discover you are afraid in your mind and forget that you are afraid in your soul.
the point is to face fear if you can, but not if you are not ready

I'm not particularly scared of death. I am scared of threats to my life. That's not quite the same thing.
You do realize that death is a threat to your life, right?
People may not be scared of death as an abstract concept. But everyone is scared of all the concrete realities of dying.
