Are there limits to what healing we can receive?

And that's another issue in itself. I don't believe the power rests with us to use all willy-nilly as we see fit. The Spirit grants us the gift to fit the situation we are in. I don't subscribe to this idea that I'm given say the gift of healing, or a gift of healing, but if I'm out ministering then I can't expect words of prophecy because well I don't have the gift of prophecy. I don't see the gifts of 1 Cor 12 that way. As I'm working with the Spirit, He will grant me whatever gift I need at that moment to accomplish His work through me. So unless the Spirit tells me, go to that cancer hospital and clear it out as you put it. I no more have that ability than the next guy.

That's why I believe these gifts are given and displayed when the gospel is preached, when the name of Jesus is proclaimed. They are given to aid in that endeavor. If someone needs healing, sure they can be prayed over, in the sense of like James 5 with elders and such. That passage doesn't seem to indicate that healing would happen right away, it just says the Lord will heal. But from what you are proclaiming, that healing must be instantaneous and such like miracles, those are given on an as needed basis to empower and bless the ministry of the gospel.

I think where Oscarr is coming from is what he had read from some of the older saints, how they "did" have near instantaneous, if not instantaneous, healings that were recorded. Now that doesn't excuse him and his constant rant about it, but I do think this is what he is gauging things with.

I think you and others in this thread should pick up some of Maria Woodworth Etters books she wrote and read all the healing testimonies in them. If there was ever a person who was documented on what GOD did through them, she is. In my personal opinion, she had way more success and power in her ministry than Wigglesworth had.

After you read her works, then ask yourself why this isn't happening.

I think there is a failure here to see the difference between the Gifts of Healing and healing by faith and the prayer of faith.
People who are healed by the prayer of faith and simple faith in the Word do not get the fanfare and exposure the Gift of Healing might get. The gift is intended to be a sign to attract attention. I know with my own healing, there was no big hoopla. Just testimonies and sharing. I think this is true about most people who are healed simply by faith and the prayer of faith. I am willing to bet if you asked a faith congregation how many have been healed or are walking in health, the majority would raise their hands.

True, but some here would demand you produce a doctor's note to prove you had been healed.

All types of healing are recorded in the OT and NT except types of deliverance. In the NT, Jesus commanded demons to leave individuals.

I actually had been thinking earlier today that it might be interesting for someone here to start a poll here ... 'nother thread ... to see how many persons have actually personally experienced divine healing? Not to ask for a big long testimony about it ... a simple 'yes' or 'no' would do.

Like someone else has said, I think many of us have experienced personal healing, and just not made a big public show of it.

It is so easy to talk faith ... but does not personal experience with God also edify and build faith? I surely think that it does ...

"no one is getting healed" My own personal experience says otherwise, you've testified in this thread otherwise to that. Perhaps you mean something different that what that reads on face value.

Is it God's will for all believers to be healthy?

Again, scripture is not based on humans ability, but God’s Word.

If you prayed with someone to accept Christ as their savior and they died and ended up in hell, did you lie to them?

The fact you state emphatically that no-one is getting healed amazes me. I have seen healing consistently over the last 38 years of ministry, into the thousands of people. It puzzles me that you do not -

Even the Psalmist saw the connection between forgiveness and healing

Psalm 103:
