Relatively harmless witches. Supposedly believe in white magic. Trouble is, if it is not from God, and it isn't it is from Satan. It is peaceful, and they worship nature.
It is still a sin. It is sad because they are for the most part kind but they are in sin. Looking for empowerment as
most witches.

Wicca is a religion made up in the 1950's with an invented history which denounces and defames Christianity and Christians.

There is no evidence of Wicca having existed prior to WWII, according to the New York Times, and the books that they use as their sacred history were written as fiction books by a man in prison for fraud. The author was bored in prison and started to write this revision of history, but because he was in prison for fraud, he couldn't find a publisher. So he managed to self-publish through one of the vanity publishers, and people who were disenchanted and disenfranchised by Christianity took them up as truth and made a new religion out of them.

Although Wiccans claim to be the spiritual descendents of Celtics and druids, Wicca is not related to Celtic religion, according to archeologist and historians, who say that none of the rituals or religious holidays are the same one celebrated by the long-dead druids.

Wicca, sometimes called "The Craft" or "The Craft of the Wise" is one of many earth-based religion. The religion which is closest to Wicca in America is probably Native American spirituality. Traditional Wicca was founded by Gerald Gardner, a British civil servant, who wrote a series of books on the religion in the 1940's. It contains references to Celtic deities, symbols, seasonal days of celebration, etc. Added to this were components of ceremonial magic and practices of the Masonic Order. A more recent form is eclectic Wicca which involves a combination of Wiccan beliefs and practices, combined with other Pagan and non-Pagan elements. The various traditions of Wicca are part of the Pagan or Neopagan group of earth-based religions.

Wicca and Satanism are not at all similar religions. However, the Christian church linked them in the past -- particularly during the Witch burning times of the late Middle Ages and Renaissance. They regarded Witches as Satan worshipers. Some Christian denominations have not been particularly thorough in correcting mistakes of the past. So, Wicca and Satanism continue to be linked in many people's minds.

Many Wiccans observe a Wiccaning service for infants which is vaguely like a Christian baptism. It welcomes the newborn into the community. However, it does not obligate the infant in any way. Wiccans feel that a person must mature before they can make their own decision about religion; an infant cannot make such a choice.

Why don't you ask them about it yourself? It's interesting to say the least, and I doubt any harm could come of you from talking to him/her.

You should probably educate yourself before judging them....They aren't scary in anyway, and there is no reason to be scared of them. In fact being scared of them would probably be worse for you if you were trying to be a witness to them. Wiccan's don't believe in satan, in fact they don't believe in any evil diety. There's lots of websites out there for you to look at that you could read and replace your fear with knowlege. If you want some of the sites pm me and i'll get them to you asap. If you need anything else please pm me....god bless

I don't think Wiccans are scary. I don't think they're bad people. I know where they're coming from. I find Wicca to be quite interesting.

But I had a bad experience with it when I was experimenting with different religions awhile back - and I don't wanna go there again.

I would stay away from the wiccans at school.

The wiccan school of thought is really starting to be popular amongst preteen through young adult girls. Girls who look at the scary world might think it is cool to be able to do magic and have stuff happen. But this "magic" is not of God, and is therefore something to stay away from.

I wouldn't be so quick to say it's a trend. It's amazing the pull Satan has. Just one step on a slippery slope will land you on your rear at the bottom.

Some of my childhood friends from church and school ended up in Wiccan cults. Some of them are still there.

I'd stay away from it! and them!

Well, I don't mean it's a trend for everyone. I know a lot of people are serious about it. But to some people it is a trend... or, a phase. I kind of went through that phase last year. And again not too long ago. I'm trying to stay a Christian but it's hard sometimes.

Not all Wiccans believe in magic, and if you stay away from people how exactly do you lead them to Christ?

One of my oldest and dearest friends became Wiccan a few years ago... Her name is Rosie. Another friend, Laura, is also Wiccan... please pray for them... I can't win them round with words, so I just try to do it with love and prayer

Well said E-Beth! Sometimes praying for people is the only way to reach them. It may sound trite but it's true that a rotten apple will spoil the whole bushel.

I wouldn't allow my teen to hang with someone involved with magic, nature worship or any other type of cult. Nor would I myself hang with them.

Addaperle - I'll pray for Rosie and Laura - prayer is powerful. You may not *see* that you are reaching them but rest in God!

I have a friend that I lost years ago to crack. Her baby is my goddaughter. Since I didn't know where they were I couldn't do much but pray. I was so blessed about 5 years ago (9 years after I lost track of her) I finally had contact with her. She's born again and raising her family without drugs. (she has four kids now)

Point is - we don't always see how God works, but he ALWAYS hears our prayers!
