I became an 80s fanatic in 1997 at age 7 when I first saw Tiffany's music video "I Think We're Alone Now" on VH1's Pop-up Video. I have had a crush on her when I was a boy, and I also grew up to other 80s artists' music videos on TV. A Flock of Seagulls' "I Ran (So Far Away)," Debbie Gibson's "Lost in Your Eyes," Taylor Dayne's "Tell it to My Heart," and especially Billy Idol's "White Wedding."
I can remember it like it was yesterday that I saw The Bangles' "Walk Like an Egyptian," Toto's "Rosanna," and Men at Work's "Down Under," especially Eddy Grant's "Electric Avenue."

So many great bands from the 80's. Here's some of my favourite New Wave:

Def Leppard is still playing 80's music. Viva Hysteria was awesome. I was fortunate enough to get to see one of the concerts just before Easter. They sound amazing.

I grew up listening to 80's music on the radio in the early 80's and then MTV in the mid to late 80's.

I have sirius xm radio in my car and usually listen to 80s on 8.

80s on 8 is excellent. Also, Next Wave, where you can hear great "80s Alternative" stuff.

Depends.

I like 80's pop generally, but am more selective of glam metal. Poison, Warrant, Motley Crue... nope. But a little bit of GNR and Def Leppard are fine.

I particularly like 80's alternative stuff, and there are some pop gems that didn't make it into the mainstream either. Here's a few bits and pieces I like:

Prefab Sprout - When Love Breaks Down - YouTube

china crisis - wishful thinking - YouTube

The Blue Nile - Tinseltown In The Rain (1984) - YouTube

Oh wow, I feel SO old lol...your Dad is from that era and your Grandma's record player
I still have a record player...I can even remember the big Reel to Reel players...still have it upstairs...

I remember back in the 80's when all the songs were new...now they're classics...

And when Mtv came out...'Video Killed the Radio Star' by the Buggles...good song...

How old are you Amanda? Cause if you don't own a record player, you can just call me Grandpa
