  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

They most definitely do. It is a way of connecting when you are not really wired to connect.

Yeah, that's certainly true.

I personally prefer interacting with people through the internet than in real life. Through the internet I do not have to deal with the same level of tired awkwardness, and the cold distance fits me well. : )

I can also disengage from the conversation pretty much any time I want. A perfect blend of some connection and cold distance.

If you ever want to see me fail ask me to describe a person, I cant I honestly can not describe someone to save my life. when my uncle asked me to describe my brothers girlfriend there was silents for five minutes. the only answer I can think of was "big"

So you have trouble identifying people visually?

Does this make watching movies and television hard? Or once you see their face it all comes back?

But yeah, those on the spectrum do seem to have an unusual ability to focus. I'm not sure it's a very smart thing that we should stamp that out. Rather, let people focus. It can produce some amazing results. Everyone doesn't need to fit the same mold.

That is exactly my point. I suspect my son may have aspergers, in fact, I would describe him as an asperger-savant. Before he started kindergarten he understood prime number, multiples and factors. Tying his shoes, though, was something he never quite mastered and his social skills were severely lacking. I I long ago accepted this was just the way he was wired. Would I cure him, if that meant losing his genius? I don't think so. I would just like to see him get the panic and anxiety associated with this syndrome better under control.

[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], that show, I mean its so obviously fake but its still so much fun to watch.

Cool, someone else who has seen it! I agree it is fun to watch, the director keeps you on the edge of your seat - often I'll channel surf during commercials but during this show I just muted it and became excited to see the footage they were getting ready to show. I think they are authentic and like how passionate for the cause they are to gather research. Here is a link to there webpage if anyone is wondering what were talking about. You said some naughty words jacknife. Would you mind editing them before someone else decides to report you.

Thanks for your concern it appears the forum software did it anyway, cool no need to do anything. My dad used a lot of colorful words, after a while it becomes part of some peoples standard vocabulary - I'm sure it was just an attempt to share a thought about that television show.

I am going to try an experiment.

I am going to try my hardest to be happy and positive for a whole week.

Don't try too hard, as the opposite usually happens when you try to be positive. I'll give you some tips...

When a negative situation happens (something annoys you, etc) respond in a positive way. Make it so this person annoying you is a good thing. Make the traffic jam slowing you down something you appreciate. Don't even try that hard, just let it happen.

When a negative thought comes your way try to ignore it. That will stop it. But of course some thoughts are hard to ignore, so if you can't do that, then laugh in its face. You can usually stop negative situations by 'shocking' the situation. Basically doing the opposite of what the situation would call for. So laughing like a loon at a negative thought will make that thought run away as it will be confused.

It took me a long time before I thought I could look someone in the eye, being the shy type that preferred time alone growing up so your not alone. My girlfriend was the same way, when anyone ask her why she wouldn't look at them she would say because your ugly. Ah, the good old school days - not - I disliked school so much I had nightmares of being back in it for years after I graduated.

The Occult was a natural attraction to me too - Demonology, Pentagrams, Witchcraft in my late teens. I was not so much a practitioner of it but emersed myself in deeply studying the various schools of thought. In my study I became fascinated with the connection of God and began learning the names of God - it changed me spiritually in the sense I had an epiphany of God and began to believe there is one a big thing for me not being a church goer but I know the quest was over, found what I was looking for.

Little did I know the Bible I was learning about God from is a book of books and would eventually out of a revelation of Jesus reject it all except the Gospels as authoritative doctrine. At my Catholic Baptism not a good thing to say you reject portions of their Scriptures so looking back I'm thankful that came later on in my spiritual walk because I like knowing I can go to Communion although I don't go much. I love the Holy Water too, to take it and rub it on my forehead sometimes reminds one like me not to forget about the existence of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The issue for me about a complete form of acceptance of the Bible now is that it conceals it's falsehoods as truths and if one is being a Christian why not turn to teachings of Jesus? He clearly summed up everything Scripture was meant to be in the Golden Rule, as have many other great Religion founders declared too when it comes down to their root I've found. A difficult thing to question the norm sometimes but if we value the teachings of our Religion ultimately it will condense to that.

Myself I consider it all tied into my Natal Pluto Aspects - as an Astrologer - being an outsider, interest in knowledge most are not privy to, the process of finding the essence of what really maters and letting it shine basking in the radiant happiness of Zoroastrian Wisdom. What a ride but I would not change it now to be a church boy growing up because my experiences made me who I am lightening myself of the man-made baggage for the most stable and solid foundation. This was like a process looking back with Pluto, nothing noticeable day by day unlike Mercury were you could have a day you would find clarity of thinking.
