  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love Beavis and Butthead.

The one where they forget to pee is one of my favorites. I also like the one where they get accepted into a cult, and one where Beavis and Butthead meet a fugitive serial killer and then one where they find a dead rodent and try to sell it's fur to a high class clothing shop.

While the humor is pretty low brow, the show is actually quite clever and creative at times. Mike Judge was always a little miffed that people never gave the show more credit. It was designed to look simple and stupid, but it actually had a lot of subtly to it.

I'd be thrilled if the show were back on the air again. Netflix really needs to revive the series.

Yeah, they brought back Beavis and Butthead back on MTV for one season. Sadly the demographics of MTV are now mostly comprised of tween girls and Beavis and Butthead never picked up high enough ratings to get a second season. I'd think Netflix might be a better fit. (not to mention Mike Judge can get more crude and risque)

The new episodes were pretty entertaining. For a revived show it wasn't bad. Can't say the same for other cartoons that were revived like Family Guy or Futurama.

In other news, I did hear they are bringing Celebrity Death Match back. Oh man, so many new celebrities they can poke fun at. I used to love that show as a kid.

What happened? The show was cancelled too many times and they had to switch staff around.

Sadly that show only really had two decent seasons.

I do have to say the characters and atmosphere of the show did improve. If only they could have maintained the same level of humor throughout. I do like how mean and biting the show eventually became.

As far as Futurama goes, I was never quite a big fan of it. It just seemed like a dumb down version of the Simpsons. As far as the Simpsons goes Matt Groeining wasn't really someone who made the show great. A lot of that was Sam Simon (God rest his soul)

^ Yeah the film is great. The cinematography and special effects are superb for a film made in the 1960s and the music is mesmerizing.

Although I have to warn you that the film moves at a slow pace with long scenes. Some like it, and others do not. Personally I have always enjoyed slower moving films.

In other news, I have heard that Roseanne Barr is going blind. This news has saddened me. I have always enjoyed watching her show growing up, and find her to be a funny comedian.

I wonder how soon bionic eye technology is on the horizon. I have read articles that low res artificial eyes may be possible by 2019, and eventually high res eyes would be available by 2030. Unfortunately for her, she could likely be dead by then.

So, I took my sons out to eat this evening, we sit down at the table in the restaurant, and the first thing each one of them does is pull out their smartphones. I told them no cellphones at the dinner table (moans and groans precede), I then interjected, "no matter where the dinner table may be" before they could utter the words, "But we're not at home!" And then more moans and groans preceded. They acted as if it was gonna kill them to not be on their smartphones, oh no, they have to talk to their mom and to each other now... I mean, come on... Sigh. Okay, my rant is over (for now).

I am probably more excited for The Full House revival than I should be.

It's manipulative sitcom crap, but it's manipulative sitcom crap I grew up with. My sisters and I would mock the show all the time growing up.

Scooby Doo is one of my favorites, I grew up on them after school. One of the few cartoons I still like. One of my friends called me when my son was younger, he's into anime now, and ask what I was doing - I said watching Scooby Doo. He said so your son is over I said no I just like them lol.

I remember watching Scooby Doo when I was younger.

I am actually surprised my parents allowed me to watch the show. Usually they were vehemently against anything they deemed dark and had to do with ghosts and witchcraft. Maybe the only saving grace was that most of the monsters and whatnot turned out to be hoaxes. Although I think a few supernatural stuff was actually going on in the show, like a talking dog for one lol..

Been thinking - are crop circles real? I know some are hoaxed but there is a lot of data on it on the internet and the patterns are amazing like pictographs from another world. Here is one I found interesting with the star pattern.

My next podcast has a segment about the animated Scooby-Doo series and how it evolved / was rebooted 11 different times. The twelfth incarnation of the show starts this year.

1. Scooby-Doo Where Are You?
2. The New Scoob-Doo Movies
3. The Scooby-Doo Show (renamed The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour, Scooby-Doo Laff-A-Lympics, and then Scooby's All Stars)
4. Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo
5. Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo (renamed Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show and the Scooby & Scrappy Doo/Puppy Hour)
6. The All New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show (renamed The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries)
7. The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo
8. A Pup Named Scooby-Doo
9. What's New Scooby-Doo?
10. Shaggy And Scooby-Doo Get a Clue
11. Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated
12. And the upcoming Be Cool Scooby-Doo

My favorite was #2 which guest starred all sorts of real and fictional celebrities (Phyllis Diller, Don Knotts, the Adams Family, Batman and Robin, Tim Conway, Johnathan Winters and more)

I just finished watching the interview with Bruce Jenner.

I found it touching, and I hope her coming out does a lot of good.

I feel bad because of my past transgender bigotry. While I was always sympathetic towards gay people, I always had an extreme hatred and disgust for trans folks. I used to make jokes about how if I discovered my future son was transgender, that I'd beat him up until he was corrected.

I was immature and ignorant.
