Anime is not inherently satanic but satan could still use it to make you become obsessed and love it more than you do God as with video games and many other material items.

I believe you can watch as much anime as you want as long as you don't get obsessed because addiction is never good for any reason.

The only thing we should be addicted to is hearing Gods word

While I do agree w/ everyone that the devil can use anything... to make you sin or stumble... there are some animes out there that are satanic, a good example is DBZ [ sorry dbz fans...used be one krillin was my fav] here are some examples: 1] they have a character named Hercule Satan...[bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]lip? Is satan really strong or is Jesus strong? I also remember in one episode that guy opens a theme park , called Sataan's theme park, making it seem like hell is a fun place to be... and the last most obvious one... is in I think dbz gt season 9... in the opening... the main characters are riding on a cart that has triple sixes on it... if that doesnt tell you they support satan idk what does.

Then theres yugioh w/ His triangle necklace and whatnot...

I mean you just have to a bit aware b/c they slip those things in there [ not just anime but films,vid games] but there are still lots of great animes out .. like KareKano :] and its pretty funny too, supergals, Marmalade boy... so many .. just gotta be aware.. not paranoid but aware... lol... when it comes to anime I usu stick to dramas or shoujos

I'd disagree as far as Neon Genisis Evangelion goes they do use Christian imagery and names quite a bit but it's all extremely superficial and is no where close to a Christian plots.

Hmmmm well anything could be a tool of Satan...technologies that have led to the mass media and different (often wrong) interpretations are all tools of the devil (news channels that give biased views against Christianity are far more Satanic than entertainment since they have such a large circulation that they could be used as propaganda). However I suppose anime, when not involving truly evil and immoral acts, is entertainment and wouldn't really be a tool of Satan.

EDIT: Ultimately it is all down to the person who interprets the entertainment they view. If they see immoralities in anime, recognise and do not emulate them in real life; then I don't see much problem. In the end anime is not the tool of Satan, we are...and it is up to us to remain close to the Lord.

Anyway anime could potentially turn your children into a Japanophilic, anime/manga freak like me! Gotta be careful, once an Otaku, always an Otaku (⌒▽&#8978

Perhaps anything secular could be classified as satanic in some regard. And sure, lots of shows have evil symbolism or references in them. In fact, if you look carefully enough, you can find them nearly everywhere you go and in nearly everything you watch. But let's be realistic, most Japanese people aren't Christians so it's not like they're going to be trying to carefully adhere to Christianity with their media entertainment.

So instead, I try to find the good in things. Oftentimes in anime, the characters will do noble acts of kindness and selflessness and I realize that God wants us to do that as well. I find parallels between Christianity and the shows I'm watching or the music I listen to. Although, some shows and music are just plain bad and there is very little, if any, good you can draw from them.

So maybe what's important is if a person is at the point where they can biblically/spiritually distinguish what is good and bad in something. Young people tend to be impressionable over movie characters and try to emulate them which may not be healthy. So for example, if I had a child and was watching a show with them, I would speak to him or her afterwards and explain what was truly good or bad about it with a biblical basis. And by the time they grew up, they would be able to recognize those things on their own.

I actually disagree with a lot of material that is usually portrayed in anime. Panty flashes, large breasts, gay sex, hentai....Japanese in general have questionable morals (like 90% or more of their nation is ATHEIST!) Did you know they have a national penis day? Why support people like that? It's entertaining, I used to obsess over anime like Death Note, but it always led to a fan base full or fanshipping and yaoi. I've pretty much quit with watching anime and reading manga after several years of loving it.
