Anime is the japanese word for cartoon.
No more, no less.

There are some bad animes, there are some bad books, there is bad music, there are bad tv shows, there are bad movies, there are bad places, there are bad hobbies, there are bad websites...

Not all anime is bad. In fact, there is a lot of christian anime out there. So...yeah.

I love how parents these days are so quick to point fingers at anything they think influences their children. The parenting aspect somehow never has anything to do with it. If your kid watches cartoons and then goes and hurts other people, I will say that the problem is within the household with this one, not with a cartoon that somehow doesnt affect everyone else in the world besides your own child.
Wonder why that is?

Some animes actually have references to the Bible.
Death Note can be watched from a Christian perspective.

I recall a time in One Piece where a Roronoa Zoro was "crucified" in someone else's place (they changed the language there in the dubbed version).

Not all anime is even bad. Lucky Star doesn't seem so bad to me.

There comes a time in every little boy's life that he thinks violence is awesome every boy goes through this. YOU as a parent needs to take responsability for this you did not watch this show before he did you did not do any research on it therefor you did not do your job as a parent instead you blame the show. He is not possessed HE IS A BOY!!! Sorry. I didn't read through all 9 pages, but the OP has to be a joke. They have a son. That son is a boy. Boys will ALWAYS be attracted toward the violence in ANYTHING. If you believe that your son isn't, you are lying to yourself.

People choose what to be offended by. This person has chosen to be offended by Naruto (which is one of the much tamer ones).

I actually enjoy Naruto. My favorite character is Rock Lee because, even though he doesn't have inherent ninja abilities, he works hard and through perseverance is able to accomplish great things. If that's not a good role model, I don't know what is.

On a side tangent about 'good' anime, I really like Sgt Frog and there is a newer chibi version of the Naruto Universe characters in Rock Lee and his Friends. They are pretty enjoyable!

That's not true! I watch anime whole my life, I am married and have 2 beautiful kids. Yes, there is anime that is sort of satanic like elfen lied but there are very nice once to! Not only boys watch anime, girls aswell, I do!
I admid there are anime who include demons, they see them as good even thougt there bad. There is even an anime callled ao no excorsist wich is about a boy who excually is the son of SATAN! but is reased by humans and uses his power for the good! so anime is not a bad thing!

I don't know if I should take this seriously.
All forms of medium/art are tools that can either be used for good or evil. This includes music of every genre, anime/manga, TV, Pictures, etc, etc. So it is completely fine to view Animes/Mangas, for they are just another form of spreading God's wonderful good news of Jesus Christ's ministry, death, burial, and resurrection in various different forms, from presenting Bible stories (Manga Messiah), to presenting fictional stories that portray christian beliefs/morals (Shelter of Wings). All glory be to our One and Only Triune God. Amen

Do not watch anime friends! My son watched this anime called "narootoh" and now he thinks it's cool to hurt people! Anime is clearly a tool of satan trying to teach children to hurt eachother and that it's okay, please delete this forum section, to admins. FMA was great. I love Death Note. Madoka Magica was AMAZING!
K-ON! is awesome too.

One Piece even talks about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Same with FMA (not Brotherhood).

True althought the first anime I thought Roy was overhyped but Botherhood and the manga he lived up too it.

Although I've got to say this too sometimes it's hard for parents necassirly to judge anime FMA Brotherhood and Gurren Lagann for example both were alot dark series then I orginaly thought they were going to be. Now I love both series and have them on dvd but they did surprise me a bit.
