Jason Evert has a lot to say on the topic; I hope this helps. Briefly, one of the main points he (and many others) bring up is Thomas Aquinas' simple point: To love is to choose the good of the other.

Yes. Out of all my friends only one has had the blessing to find true love...when she fell sick her significant other didn't leave her...he stood by her and they weren't even married yet... But they will be soon... That's true love.

She's very lucky.

Otherwise, the world can be very unfair, realistically speaking. A few have blue skies, some have dark skies like a storm is coming. Sometimes, all we can do is find the beauty in whatever situation we maybe.....And it will transform us from inside and out!
