This will be coarse fishing in England; i.e. in rivers and lakes for fish that are not game fish (trout, salmon etc). So I will be going for carp and tench mainly from the lakes. I expect to get a bream now and then, but there's no sport in bream - it's like pulling in a wet towel. Various methods to use; float, leger, mid-depth, surface bait, bottom bait.

And it's just for sport, so they all go back fit and healthy to fight another day. So we have to use barbless hooks and lead-free shot on the line.

Hi again. :) It was great to read that the fish go back afterwards, to fight another day. I'm not familiar with fishing methods at all, but had to laugh at the wet towel description. :D

Even put some redness to my forearms, as I was able to get out-there, in the back-garden and continue
my 'planned-works', for it
@ 3.30pm, it was so hot in the sun that I had to seek shade under a bush
where, I had thoughtfully placed the outside table and chairs

Photos, WHEN, I have something reasonable to show

I bet you ones really enjoy your outdoor space, Dave. :) Looking forward to seeing the latest photos...

On right now - the very first episode of Doc Martin. I didn't watch it when it came on all those years ago, so having a look this evening and it's pretty good so far. :)
Persist with it - it is good. We've seen them all.

Quite hilarious in places. Yeah, my parents watched it back in the day and really enjoyed it. I also enjoy Martin Clunes' documentaries. :)

Rita is back visiting here. Enjoying the ROSE photos that Dave shared. R there any other documentaries, joyshirley that you enjoy watching? I enjoy different kinds of documentaries, especially about different destinations in the world and of castles. They are my favorite. Rock Bass and Bluegills I caught fishing for the first time I ever fished in my life.

Surely these, were so much more than your needs ?

Phewwww

Thankful to catch my limit for the day. Yes, they were more than my immediate needs, but all were eaten within a short period of time. They were baked carefully and eaten with freshly squeezed lemon juice and tartar sauce. I said my thanks to God for the catch of my lifetime, thus far.

X-rays not needed.

But Y? I was moved to share this with you, but I can't think why:

On Monday evening I was struck down by norovirus. Tuesday was a day of recovery. I'm supposed to be having my annual camping fishing week starting tomorrow, but right now I feel like I've had a good kicking at the feet of a few soccer players, and Mrs F's recovery is half a day behind mine.

Why, do you think, would I be moved to share this?

(Nice roses, by the way - David looks mature but healthy and well maintained)

Zealous (enthusiastic) over those lovely rose photos, Dave; what is more you have them. Camping and fishing trip, sounds like good outdoor summertime enjoyment. Soccer?

B

Ball game played all over the world is called football here and elsewhere, soccer in places where football is a game involving carrying the ball and throwing it. As you are in the US, you would know football as the game that colleges play with the oval ball and players wearing lots of padding. The name soccer is more universally recognised as the feet-only game.
