One time in his lifetime the scientist make an lucky prediction on an eruption. Wow, great track record. Here is the thing. These great prognosticators of volcanology are drooling all over themselves up here to get on radio or TV to tell us, uh it may erupt uh lots more. But...it may.. you know..not erupt..uh..so much. You can watch the birds and animals and get a better idea of what to expect. I make that observation and I get; Why don't you pick up a book you ignorant rube!!

Scientists saved a lot of lives predicting the eruption of Mt. St. Helens.

The volcano is a register Republican, and it is threatening the lives of peaceful, hardworking Americans just by its very existance. We should enact the "non-Eruption Doctrine" and enact targetted legislation that requires it to progressively reduce its emissions of sulfur dioxide down to environmentally responsible levels.

Indeed, so can people please focus on the political aspect of this thread if possible (ie. whether earthquake monitoring/volcano monitoring is classified as pork or if it has pertinent and necessary applications. Or whatever else you may wish to discuss). A thread on the volcano eruption itself can be found in N&CE I think. If not, feel free to make one.​

(I don't get what this is doing in here - I mean, we've got none of the usual culprits to blame. George Soros had nothing to do with this, and I'm pretty certain that volcanoes aren't erupting because of socialism).
