Let me check the text
“... To its east there is a large star called Wolf. If Wolf shows horns (jiao) or changes colour, then there will be much banditry [4].” “If the Wolf Star ...... shows rays or horns, or shakes about, or changes colour, then there will be war; if it shows great brilliance, then weapons will be sought after ...... if its colour is yellow and smooth, there will be joy; if the colour is black, there will be sorrow [5].”
Never mentioned it's white
“For the five planets, a white halo means funeral or drought; a red halo means disturbance and war in the Middle Kingdom; a blue halo means sorrow and flood; a black halo means disease and many deaths; a yellow halo is auspicious. Red horns mean invasion of our cities; yellow horns, fighting over territories; white horns, sound of walling and weeping; blue horns, war and sorrow; black horns, flood [4] .”
Never mentioned it's white
“For white, compare Lang (Sirius); for red, compare Xin ( Sco); for yellow, compare the Left Shoulder of Shen ( Ori); for blue, compare the Right Shoulder of Shen ( Ori); for black, compare the large star of Kui ( And).” The credibility of SIMA Qian's description is confirmed by the following fact: of the five stars, apart from Sirius which, being sub jadice, must be set aside, all the other four were given believable colours, Sco, spectral type M0, is indeed red; Ori, Spectral type B2, is blue; Ori is at present a red supergiant, but it has been established [7] that it is quite consistent with modern theory of stellar evolution for it to have a yellow colour two thousand years ago. The last one, And, spectral type M0, is dark red, but there is justification for the ancient Chinese to call it black.
Since he failed to produce the chinese text. there's no way to criticize his reading.(I can read Classical Chinese fairly well) if he thinks black is dark red then it's natural that white means bright red. Text in Chinese in prefered.Chinese Five Element never states there have to be 5 colors.Five Element in English/Chinese/Vietnamese is Gold (Jin1, Kim) Wood(Mu4, Mộc) Water(Shui3, Thủy) Fire(Huo3, Hỏa) Earth(Tu3, Thổ). is currently used to name stars. Mercury = Shui Xing(Thủy Tinh) Venus = Jin Xing (Kim Tinh) Mars = Huo Xing(Hỏa Tinh) Jupiter = Mu Xing(Mộc Tinh) Saturn = Tu Xing(Thổ Tinh)5 isn't quite significant in China. 9 is traditionally considered lucky.
TEXT SOURCE AUTHOR DATE 1 as white as Lang1 SJ/TGS SIM Qian 100 B.C. 2 as white as Lang HS/TWZ BAN Gu, BAN Chao, MA Xu 100 A.D. 3 as white as Lang or Zhinfü2 JZZ[12] LIU Biao 200 A.D. 4 as white as Lang JS/TWZb LI Chun-feng 646 A.D. 1 Lang = Sirius. 2 Zhinfü = Lya.SJ/TGS = Shiji Tianguanshu. There's no word "fü" whatsoever in Mandarin and the romanization in the whole article is based on Mandarin pinyin. He can't produce any reliable text. the only text that seems to suggest a white sirius actually suggests it's bright red.(a red giant)This text is an amateur attempt to fool Westerners who have no knowledge of Chinese culture.

If you think so, then you should accept you're dumber than a monkey. I compare the intelligence of you at birth with that of an adult monkey.

I should think all baby humans are indeed dumber than adult monkeys. And I should also think that Sirius observed heliacally is redder than Mars observed at any time (though I don't know this for sure) even if Sirius A is actually radiating white / blue-white light. And I should think that an ad-hominem (or nearly so) attack like that is unjustified, inefficient, inadequate, and probably reportable.

This whole Red Sirius thing is completely off-tangent to the rest of the thread, particularly since stellar evolution trends are only one way (if they are used at all) that scientists use to gauge the age of the universe. Am starting separate thread for it.

When one compares things of different time, one should explicitly speak about the condition. if I hadn't said "I'm comparing human baby and adult monkey" the it would have been a lie and personal attack and you SHOULD report it. but I explicitly told it's a comparison of human baby and adult monkey and it's just a simple fact.

you can get the correct conclusion from the "dumber than monkey" comparison why can't do the same on red sirius?

btw I appreciate you start another thread.

Clicked No stance, should have clicked none of the above...

You need a God Did It And that's All that Matters option. Gen1 may be historical fact, it may be simple allegory, it may be a great prophecy, it may be a wonderful lesson, it could be all of these. What matters is that God Made the World, the Universe, and Everything. "How?", I think, shouldn't be the worries of our life.

Check out my crazy idea: Possible? Or Not?

No scientific proof necessary because science can completely be thrown out by the idea. Therefore, I'm on no grounds to use science to either prove it or disprove another theory in regards to this one. I do like thinking about abstract ideas though, and using math.

Your profile says you're an Atheistic Evolutionist. Glad to have one here.:D

It is a struggle, I tell you.....my scientific heart combining with my religious soul.......It is very difficult, but I am just not able to believe in creation. It sometimes keeps me awake at night, feeling guilty...but God knows me and He respects my opinion. When I meet Him in Heaven, I will surely ask Him about it.....;)

I know how it feels ... I was here in the same place a year ago wondering just how evolution was supposed to make sense with my faith. For a time I would simply tell people that "look, the world is 6,000 years old, I know there's absolutely no scientific proof whatsoever but I still believe it". In the end I grew out of that phase by reconciling evolution to what I believe.

You can either walk out of this phase an evolutionist, or a creationist. That's not so important. What's more important is that you should know why you choose to believe what you believe (whether creationist or evolutionist), and that what you believe should bring you closer to God.

I don't think you will ask Him in Heaven. Facing an omnipotent being full of love, you'll reject the idea that death and misfit is part of His plan at the beginning.

Agree...and don't.

A parent loves his/her child, but still disciplines because inevitably, the child is naughty. God loves, but because we will inevitably fail, he must punish to set us straight so that we might not fail again in the same way.

But, I also don't think you'll ask God because, 1.) you won't have to, and 2) You WON"T WANT TO!!! Who cares about earthly matters when you're in the eternal prescence of the all-mighty Father!!! It won't really matter, will it?

Does it really not matter? I want to ask a few things.....I need answers the world cannot give me. Maybe I will know before I meet God, but I am fairly sure I will ask:

- evolution.
- why the heck I got this unhealthy body.
- why there is so much pain in the world.

Maybe the questions change over the years....but I am self-opinionated enough to do that ;)

I certainly have questions I want answered, and right now! but I am inclined to agree with sampson x, the awe of being in heaven, in the healing, loving presense of God will wash away the urgency we feel to get our answers.

After a few centuries we may remember our questions and get around to asking...

Peace

This statement is contrary to the Gospel as I understand it. The cliche, if I recall, is, "The cross was never plan B." That the cross was in God's mind, from the beginning, is much more consistent with orthodox theology than the view that God didn't know that Man would fall.
