Where does the Bible say that the moon is flat, anyway? Where did you get it from?

The Bible does not say the moon is flat and i do not believe the moon is flat. I believe the moon is a convex domed disk that faces the earth.

If it is a sphere, it is a sphere that does not rotate and lights up on just the part facing the earth.

But The Bible does state the sun, moon and stars are lights created to give light to the earth. So why would a light created to give light on the earth need to shine in all directions.

Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

Because its a poetical drama written by bronze-age Jews. Its their theological interpretation of the world around them, from their perspective. Its not a natural law or science or described from a galaxy perspective.

Dear me...

It doesn't shine in all directions. Ever heard of the dark side of the moon? (someone even made an album about it). It's in darkness. I mean, the clue is in the name. The side you can see is in sunlight. The light we get from the moon is reflected sunlight.

How on earth do you not know this?

Without any reason and contrary to all evidence?

The Bible leans towards my belief. Being that the sun was created to give light to the earth and not to the earth and moon. With that Biblical observation, which makes the moon a light. also created to give light to the earth.

It is a sphere and it rotates once every time it orbits the earth, so we only see one side of the moon. The earth only gets light reflected off the side facing the earth, but because the sun is in different positions relative to the moon, we end up with the phases of the moon.

This is quite a weak reason, against all the evidence we have for the contrary.

So when a moon is in this phase only this little sliver is producing light. The unseen side is dark along with the earth facing side is dark except for this little sliver

It's not producing light. It's the part of the moon that's illuminated by the sun.

If the moon is on the opposite side of the earth to the Sun, then most of what we see is in sunlight. If it's the same side as the sun then most of what we see is in shadow. If it's at the side of the earth then we see half of it illuminated.

If the moon is producing light, how are there shadows in the craters?

The unseen side of the moon in this photo is mostly lit up by the sun

Well that is not what you said in your post, to a post i made.

I understand what science claims. I was replying to a post by the poster (Bradskii) who stated the moon does not rotate and there is a dark side of the moon.

Obviously. However, imagine how you could invest your time better, instead of to an obvious and disproven nonsense.
-
It is only disproved in the mind of a person who fully believes what other people of science claim to be true.

Which i do not.

If the moon is lit by the sun. Why can this effect when zooming in on the moon with a camera, not be able to be reproduced by lighting a Styrofoam sphere with a light.
