Another point you seem to fail to understand is that earth in The Bible does not mean a water covered sphere with scattered land areas on it.

Earth in The Bible simply is speaking about land/ground.

Which would simply be describing the earth's crust.

If I point my beam away from Oz in the real world the signal just goes around the world the "wrong" way but gets there all the same. They see something in the Bible and vastly interpret it to suit their narrow beliefs while 99% of God loving people see it plainly and correctly. It amazes me.

So you've decided it means "hang on to something solid" because that's what you need it to mean.

I can and do deny it because it's balderdash. YOu've even admitted that there's nothing in the Bible that says any such thing, so now you're simply gainsaying what you could see for yourself by the simple expedient of actually looking at God's actual creation rather than clinging to mistaken notions of what you think the Bible "means". Watch that boat sail away and drop below the horizon. Look at the moon through a telescope and marvel at the beauty and precision of the what the Lord has wrought. You've tried to confine the creation of the eternal and omnipotent God to a snowglobe, and the reality is vast and wonderful beyond anything you, or anyone else, can comprehend. You want a little world that you can sail around in a couple of months or fly across in a few hours, but God can't be limited in such a way. We'll spend eternity in awestruck contemplation of His infinite creation.

One more, Flat Guys. Why is there a horizon? Why is it that, in clear weather, the horizon is always the same distance away as viewed from the same perspective. Why is it farther away when seen from greater heights? The only "answers" I've heard to those questions have been either attempts at misdirection or simple gobbledygook.

They probably will, but the force bringing them together will be something other than gravity. You need objects of immense mass to generate a significant gravitational force.

Well, Pluto is not that big and it still orbits the sun which is way way way farther away than we think, in realtion to size.. Two balls hanging on a string... should automatically stick together.... IF.. gravity was a function of mass and distance.

What did you think there would be on a FE? It doesn't curve down... It doesn't curve up... Then, the further and further away things are, the smaller and smaller they get.. It still doesn't negate a horizon.

Your thinking with your "ball earth" brain. On a FE it would take a force to raise an object off the ground. There is no need for some mystery force holding things down. Down is just down. Objects have mass. The more mass, the greater the force necessary to raise the object.

Then pick it up and turn it loose. It'll hang there in the air where you left it because there's nothing pulling it down.

Read the post above. It would have to have a force to hold it up. There is no need for a force pulling it down... That is only necessary to keep the people, rocks, water, animals... on the sphere. There has to be a force on the sphere to make everything stick... Not so if there is only a flat surface.. Down..... is down.

The sun's the most massive object in the solar system. Biiiiiiiiiig gravity well. Holds tiny planets in orbit and billiard balls on tables.

But, the gravity of the billiard balls aren't strong enough to move them a thousandth of an inch... nice....

Gravity varies with mass. Pool balls have very little mass, hence don't attract very much. Make then the size of Jupiter, the story changes. <Laugh>
