Until I believed Jesus died for my sins ( because I did not deny I was a sinner )...and was then filled with the Holy Spirit? I thought the resurrection was a perplexing myth. Why do they need to believe that for? Must have an irrational fear of death..

And, if I remained an unbeliever, and was still thinking it was a myth? I would never have bothered to do what you are doing here. I believe what you pursue here must stem from a resentment you hold towards Christians because they believe the atheist will burn in Hell.

As for me? I still would not have wasted any time with them if they thought I would burn in what I would see as an imaginary Hell. If they want to believe in fairy tales? Why should that concern me?

Another thing that perplexes me about the atheists. Something that I have witnessed to, and quite often.... I always found it beneath myself to pick on anyone who was mentally deficient... Like atheists see Christians.

If I wanted to spend my time pursuing my time with something like that? I would have wanted to become a psychiatrist and would have done studies at mental institutions of the delusional. But, I would have never mocked them. After all, if a delusional person told me a big lion would eat me up if I did not treat them like Napoleon? For sure, I would have not taken it personally. Nor, would I lecture them on logic. I would have seen that as a stupid thing to do under those circumstances.

Its why we see what we do for that era. For, God was working within the context of first getting primitive man to become civilized. That is why He gave the Jews the Law. God was in the process of housebreaking mankind... one people at a time.

So, moral relativism? What you are saying is that man has different values across time. At one point, it was okay to kill sinners. Now, it is not. God didn't mind killing people for their transgressions; now, he waits until after you die to eternally torture you.

Housebreaking? He killed entire cities; every man, woman, and child. How can you learn from something if you're dead? What is different from the heart of man today that was not present back then? Why could they not understand the same moral concepts I understand?

I don't see how violence is an effective and proper mode of teaching for a omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient being when dealing with his children. If I had two daughters that did something wrong, the proper response would not include stoning one to death while the other watched. There are other methods to dealing with error other than violence.

"You can't disprove God" fallacy.

We don't have to disprove God.

We aren't making a claim. We are looking from the bottom up and saying that it appears that there is no god/the Christian god is false (my personal case). I don't think Christians spend their days going "I can't prove that Zeus doesn't exist; maybe he's real".

You can't know that there exists a god with certainty.

We don't even have to disprove the existence of a god, only your version of god. This applies especially for people like myself.

I would say it is impossible to keep one's views to oneself, because one's views ultimately trickle over into action. Eventually, people of different ideologies will clash in one way or another.

Man was in his infancy. He did not even understand what we take for granted. Common manners? Never was taught. Rude and crude. Man had to be disciplined, punished for bad doing, and trained to lead him into being civilized someday. You do not go up to a wild dog and pet him. You'd be in for a rude surprise. You do not mount a wild horse and expect to have him accept you in the saddle either...


Your own life is a reflection of that. At one time you needed to have your diapers changed and had a few temper tantrums along the way. You needed to be spanked at times.

Then you outgrew that phase. Still needed to be spanked at times when you got self willed and wanting what was wrong.

Then you outgrew that phase and the approach on teaching you to become civilized took on other imposed authority over your life.

According to your profile you are still young. There will be more life molding influences beyond your control that will confront you and demand of you certain things you would rather not do.

Now... when in high school? If someone brought a gun to school and started shooting some of the students. Law enforcement would have entered your school and may have shot the maniac dead. You would have been relieved if you were to be the next room that maniac was to enter.

God has an advantage over man. He does not have to wait for the maniac to first raise his ugly head and begin murdering others before God will kill that person. God can kill him before he can kill. So, God commanded that the Taliban of their day be executed... even the children, before they could murder and torture the Jews.

Which was the more civilized way to deal with a murderous people?

The children were not as innocent as you presume. They did not grow up in your dream world mentality. They grew up in a nightmare mentality. Just look at it being manifested today!

God simply had that type of murderous demonized people killed off so Israel could get on their feet and become established in a land having peace. You think God would have been more benevolent if He allowed them to live and kill his chosen people over years of struggle? I think God actually took the more civilized approach. For many years Israel partook of great peace and prosperity. When Israel became unfaithful God allowed their enemies to prosper... Discipline.
