How does one "thank" goodness?

Tell me something?

When someone sneezes? Do you tell them..."Goodness bless you?"

And, what about?.. Goodness damn it! ... Goodness save the king!
It show you just how long people have been afraid of their own shadows doesn't it.

A god in the mind is more frightening than two in the bush.
Scare children enough and they will believe all their lives.
What Bishop said 'give me a child until it's seven and I will give you a Catholic for life'?

When you die where are you hoping to go? Heaven, Valhalla or the Happy Hunting grounds?

Why should the thought of God scare you? If you are not evil, it should not be the case. Why?

Which is exactly what you and all the other creationists here do, all you ever do is talk,
you all say this or that is wrong with evolution but you never show why it's wrong, all you ever do is talk,
that's all creationists seem to be good for, talking, listening to professional creationists lies and repeating the lies.

If creationists were as smart as they think they are they would all be too embarrassed to be creationists.

Well, isn't the second to last one using "the lord's name in vain"?

I was speaking from the perspective of how the word is commonly used. Not that I would do that. Its commonly used that way.

I am surprised that damn is not censored. I guess it is in the bible though, so that might mess up some scripture quotes.

Seeing as Jesus died and came back and mentioned that it is
heaven, then that's the correct one. Do I get a prize?

"The devil is a better theologian than any of us and is a devil still." (A.W. Tozer)

The devil is actually a lousy theologian. He is just great at memorizing verses and for finding things that appear to be errors and contradictions. He is terrible at understanding. A better theologian understands and has wisdom in application. The devil distorted Scripture when he tempted the Lord. The devil is the original Watchtower Society.

Typically using the "lord's name in vain" is done through ill wishing. No one really complains if someone is wishing you well.

What I find objectionable is the occasional use of "God Bless" by people who really do not seem to mean it.

Well... since someone brought it up..

Using the Lord's name in vain was written in the Law of the Jews. It was speaking originally about making false oaths, or promises, that would be sealed in the Lord's name. The Jews would use the Lord's name to guarantee a promise. "I swear by the Lord in Heaven that I am telling you the truth." To lie at that point would have been taking the Lord's name in vain. Its application became distorted over time.

So is the word b_stard.

The Bible in the original languages were neither shy, nor prissy. When accurately translated, certain passages would shock the sensibilities of the typical self righteous goody two shoes believer. They would think the teacher was sinning.

God wants to reach the sinner where he is at.. Not, come to him as if he were a boy scout walking into the wh_re house to tell everyone they need to stop being naughty.

How can I be scared of something that doesn't exist? he must scare you though because you believe.

What if Islam is the true religion? how do you know you were taught the right one? you will never know,
even when you die you will never know because you will be dead.

You think that believing something is a way of cheating death? that's like believing you're not going to get old,
it's just plain crazy.

Ironically... you statement was based solely upon what you believe, not know.

If there is any irony in the world, it is in your statement above.

That was illogical. Sounds like you simply felt the need to have to say something.

...Try making sense out of it this time. Care to try again?

Maybe they need to look up the definition of irony?

Edit: Dang, you beat me to it. Nice one with the "Don't stand too close..."

Any statement in regards to what happens after death is ultimately going to end up being belief at least in part, since nothing about it can be proven.

How many gods do you know don't exist? for me the answer is none.
Is not collecting stamps a hobby? genez you are without doubt a creationist.

You make conversations out of nothing when nothing is there. You are without a doubt, a creationist.

The only real issue is Jesus Christ, who died on a Cross to purify you of all the sin that you are. If that is not so? The whole world is living in illusion and a lie if you claim he did not exist and walk the earth.

Of course you can not see God, because his essence can not be seen. Can you see radio waves?
You will tell me that they do not exist because you can not see them?

I know.. You will tell me... "But, radio waves can be demonstrated!"

Just the same! You still will not see the radio waves when the power they hold is demonstrated. The radio waves remain unseen!

God who is unseen, demonstrated Himself...

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in
that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

You can not see God's essence. But, He was demonstrated!

Will you be like Pharaoh, who blindly rode his suicide charge between the parted waters while God's power was being undeniably demonstrated? Your heart has become hardened.

Life and its energy that you see all around you could not have happened by luck.. upon luck.. upon luck. Its illogical to accept that it could. Its absolute denial to swear that it did.
