You just said it was a physical place, and now it seems you've changed your mind?

Why can't science test the supernatural? (Hint: The supernatural doesn't exist.)

No, I said it's in there somewhere!! It is a physical place because bodies can feel pain, burning, and heat. Worms live there, fire burns, people scream and wail, it is a pit, etc. There is no water, just heat.

How it fits Inside the earth I do not know, but it is in there.

Yes the supernatural exists.

What about people with the condition that makes it so they can't feel pain? Look it up, these people have pulled out molars, scratched out their own eyes in their sleep, broken bones, without so much as a tingling feeling.

Are you really saying that the time we spend on this planet is anything compared to eternity?

How we choose to live now will be reflected in what we receive in eternity. If you show yourself irresponsible in regards to God's Word it will mean you can not be trusted with great capacity if you misuse the little we experience now. Now is the time of testing your soul. To see how much can be trusted.

Luke 16:10

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be
trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with
very little will also be dishonest with much.

Oh but I most certainly can. I know what I felt, you do not.

Spirituality is not about what one feels. Its about what one is now able to think and made able to KNOW.

That does not address my question. Can you get an answer that might demonstrate that it is not simply a product of your imagination?

I do not know honestly.
I appreciate your answer.

Until you have figured that out, I will consider what you are experiencing to be only in your imagination.

No, that means at one time I accepted Jesus Christ as my lord and savior. I was baptized. But now, I no longer accept.

That's religion. Not Christianity. If you were baptized in the Spirit you would be a Christian. Water baptism was carried over from the tradition of Judaism in the early days of the Church age because that's all they knew. Then water baptism faded out as the new life became better known. Baptist have a hard time with this teaching because it embarrasses them in their strongly felt tradition.

If you were baptized in the Spirit you would have become a new person.

Acts 1:4-5

On one occasion, while he was eating with them,
he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem,
but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you
have heard me speak about. For John baptized with
water, but in a few days you will be baptized with
the Holy Spirit.”

The knuckleheads forgot what he said almost immediately and continued to water baptize for quite some time. It is recorded in Scripture that they did. Many do not realize that it was their error in thinking that was being recorded. Not what we are supposed to be doing in the Church age. The Bible does not try to hide the errors of believers.

No, it isn't. I didn't transform. I hear so many people say this, but after I accepted Christ and was baptized, nothing happened. NOTHING. Everything was exactly the same as it was before.
Of course. You tried religion that so happens to use the NT Scriptures to wrap themselves in, like fig leaves.

It's all about the rewards, isn't it? Me, me, me.

Not when your reward is all about pleasing the Lord of your life. To know you pleased Him will be your reward. We must understand and have the capacity for love in order to appreciate that statement.

You need to think back as a child when you desired the love of an adult you admired. Jesus said that we must become like little children if we are ever to enter into the Kingdom. That does not mean return to being childish. But rather, childlike, as an adult. Young at heart. Not hard hearted and needing some stimulant to make you feel alive. Not heard hearted in demanding attention to feel you are loved. God in the Spirit is that love manifested through you. If you have it. We first need to be truly born again. Then, to learn to become honest about ourselves before the Lord by not denying the Word of God says we are all no good in our natural selves. It requires discipline and honesty in the truth.

What if there was an atheist with this condition? Why should they feel fear of it when they can't feel pain?

Oh ok, well they can see can't they? They will see worms eating flesh, people eating their own flesh, demons torturing people, fire burning, feeling no hope, thirst, smelling rot and death.
It just doesn't seem like the place anyone would really want to go to. It's a prison.

Well, what other option does a person in her position really have? I mean, when reality contradicts your beliefs, you can either 1) Change your beliefs accordingly, or 2) Ignore reality (evidence). So, really, I can hardly blame her, I suppose. But.. sheesh!

There is a benefit. If you hold on to something scriptural that you know is true..(it all is).....then eventually the "truth" about what you believe become more evident. This process only works with scripture. Likely because it actually is God's Word to man. The writings are not in their original environment, or even the original language, so the insights available sometimes keep coming for years. My experience anyway.

Nice imagery. I would imagine you would get used to it though. Also, threatening people to make them good is a great way to prevent true spiritual growth.

Also, it proves that pain is restricted to the flesh, so souls can't actually feel pain. If they did, then this condition wouldn't exist (unless you really want to open a can of worms and suggest they don't have souls).

You do have a body in hell.

Why would Matthew 10:28 say "Fear him who is able to destroy both body and soul in hell."?

And Matthew 5:29-30 say "If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

And Proverbs 1:12 say "Let us swallow them alive like sheol; and whole like those who go down into the Pit."?

And why are there so many verses describing hell as a physical place where pain and torment and weeping and gnashing of teeth happen? And where worms live?

There is overwelming scripture to support hell as a physical place where you have a body that goes there.

Nice imagery. I would imagine you would get used to it though. Also, threatening people to make them good is a great way to prevent true spiritual growth.

Oh no they don't, remember this scripture?

Luke 16:19-31
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’

This is pretty serious here. The rich man in hell is suffering so much that he begs Abraham to give him just a drop of water. It is constant suffering, constant burning of the flesh, it is not supposed to be a nice imagery, it's supposed to make us you and ME think twice about our eternity.
