Well, obviously the person who wrote ephesians was playing fast and loose with his terminology. It's something I notice christianity has a tendency to do: use a nice word to make a dubious concept sound nicer than it is, and then if challenged try and claim that the definition of that word is different in christianity. It's just playing tricks to try and hide unpleasant facts about the deal. So of course it's not unconditional otherwise everyone would receive it. It's a reward.

But whatever you want to call your prize, you've made no bones about the fact that getting it is the be all and end all for you, which is honest at least.

I think what he's saying, AV, is that it isn't a gift, per se, because it is conditional. You have to accept Jesus as your lord and personal savior to get to heaven. You wouldn't have to do anything, if it's a "gift."

We don't have to dig deep enough to "see" into the earth. We can do that with seismic waves. We know what's in there, and there is no hell there. None whatsoever. You do really understand this, don't you?

Anyway, your article says that the center is solid iron (with some impurities) with a molten outer layer. Where are the billions of suffering people going to fit here? The article didn't mention Lucifer being found there, either.

Not a good example, because you actually physically see the fireman. If I physically saw god, I would believe in god. Would you say the same about evolution if I built a time machine, went back, let's say, 20 million years, stopped, and then placed that time machine in fast forward so you could see evolution happen right before your eyes?
