You can't change reality in that sense, neither side can. But that doesn't mean that either side is correct. I see very little of people proposing that both sides can be wrong in most of what they state. I suppose because there really isn't much of a third party theory.

I readily admit I may be wrong and have already changed my mind once in this matter after many years of believing, so that shows I am willing to accept new information I did not possess before.

People look at reality differently, depending on their own psychological needs. Bottom line, whatever blows your dress up.

That sounds perverted. And I don't wear dresses.

Oh nice, so I get the best of both worlds, I get to live as an atheist, but because I did truly believe for years I am still saved. Good to know.

That is true. You will be saved from the Lake of Fire. But, your rewards chest will be barren and empty. And you will be ashamed when you stand before your Lord. You will see love like you have never known. You probably will be apologizing like crazy. Then he will wipe away every tear. There will be no more pain, no more sorrow. You will glory in your resurrection body. That glory will never fade.

So, an apology will be enough? Ok.

You will be apologizing for having wasted the time He provided for you here on earth. You will see it for yourself, he will not have to tell you. You will be able to see yourself objectively, and may even say something like... "What a jack ars that guy was." For you will have ceased being that old person you now are. Apologizing willbe for having wasted the opportunity to mature and finally began to understand what God now wants you to understand.

That is... if you truly believed.

The problem with your situation? Without God's grace being with you? You can not be certain you had believed. Just like, without the reading glasses, you will not be able to know with certainty what is contained on the eye chart. Grace is the power to normalize the deficient.

How egotistical is god that he views not worshipping him as a waste of time?

What do you base this opinion on?

I base it upon various passages in Scripture that you see as having no significance. Why should you be interested? I am just stating a balance, not giving a theology lesson. Many in this thread bring out the cynicism in me. Its like you want to see my new toy so you can toss it back and forth and keep it out of my reach... That's how I see it. If Christian asked me to explain I would know the seed would be going into good soil.

How's that for caring about what you end up in, in eternity?

If its not simply the impulse of curiosity? And, you really want to understand? Ask me again.

Are you really saying that the time we spend on this planet is anything compared to eternity?

The problem with your situation? Without God's grace being with you? You can not be certain you had believed.

Oh but I most certainly can. I know what I felt, you do not.

Why do you look for so much in depth meaning in a simple question? No need to be on the defensive, I simply asked what you based your opinion on.

You would be correct that I do not put much weight into scripture, based on the historicity of that scripture.

I am always interested in how one comes to the conclusions they do, it is one of the things that I find interesting about CF.

Just to be sure, Anya - you are, basically saying this:

Hell is a physical, real place.

It doesn't only exist, it exists on this plane of existence. As in, it would be physically possible to get there without dying.

It's in the center of the Earth.

There's a shaft, somewhere, that leads directly into it. I'm not talking about, like, a volcano or something - an actual shaft that leads into the center of the Earth, like in that scene from Bill and Ted's.

Are these accurate depictions of your viewpoints? Also, do you believe that Heaven is actually in the clouds?

Yes I believe hell is a physical place, the shaft thing I am not sure. Just when people die, they tend to go through a 'tunnel' and it would make sense to have some opening to go to the center of the earth. I think you have to die to go there becuase it is in the center of the earth.
Yes accurate.

No not in the clouds. Above the clouds somewhere. In outer space. Where, I don't know.

If you are an atheist? That means you tried to be a Christian.

No, that means at one time I accepted Jesus Christ as my lord and savior. I was baptized. But now, I no longer accept.

Its a real encounter with a life changing transformation, One that you could not even think of causing. Its unique and undefinable. Only to be understood by those who also shared in the transformation.

No, it isn't. I didn't transform. I hear so many people say this, but after I accepted Christ and was baptized, nothing happened. NOTHING. Everything was exactly the same as it was before.

Not so fast. There are Christians who reject the cross and return to live as they wish. If they truly believed at one point in time, they will be saved.

That's exactly what AV has told me in the past.

You'll suffer loss (of rewards) in Heaven too.

That is true. You will be saved from the Lake of Fire. But, your rewards chest will be barren and empty.

It's all about the rewards, isn't it? Me, me, me.

If rewards isn't your thing, that's fine.

But would you give rewards to someone who doesn't shop at your store anymore?
