What's the difference between EXPRESSING a different point of view, and PROMOTING a different point of view? Is it in the tone? The repetition? What exactly?

The best way Erwin could accommodate you, would be to make this an exclusively Christian website.

Here we go again with talk of 'agendas', and attempts at mind reading. How dramatic and over the top can we get?

If your concern is new Christians being lied to, misinformed, exposed to foreign ideas, or whatever, then they should stay away from the internet altogether.
But they don't, do they? We are responsible for discipling new believers. They will search the internet for Christian boards and find Christianforums.com. When they arrive here, they see uniting all Christians blah, blah, blah. When they begin learning that their only obligation to god and whatever jesus (small letters intentional) is being currently preached that day is to be open to everything, we are not helping them. Indeed, it could be said that Erwin is responsible for allowing them to become loster than lost. I wonder if he's considered that at all in his spiritual soul searching?

Is this a Church? Discipling takes place in a local Church - person to person (LIVE), not online. Online (computer) is just a tool like telephone, TV or any other technical resources that avoids person to person.

you know during these threads lots of times I have read "This is no longer a Christian web site"

But what makes a Christian website, the name, the programming or the people.

If we all leave then it won't be, but if we all stay and behave as we should, then there is no reason why this place can't be even more Christian.

QFT

provide the link will ya..ihavent seen that thread..thanks

It is in this announcement forum.

ya...in one way i do agree..but the thing is..no two baptists REALLY believe the same thing anyway..lol..or not two Catholics..or not Two pentecostals..in reality..we EACH have our own individual beliefs when it comes down to it..i know i for one, dont believe every doctrine of my own denomination..and many don't. Which is why this change really makes lots of sense..allowing people to say whether they are christian or not without JUDGEMENT..Erwin is on the right track i believe..

It still puts people in a general area of belief....

Wait is he holding strong to this years convictions or last years?

Seems to me they change like the direction of the wind.

This year's, of course, specifically I mean his belief this is the right direction despite loud objections. God can speak to a person and change their direction at any time, and it is one who listens that will hear that. jtbdad, would you say that God never changes a person's direction?

2 corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
15. And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
16. And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.''
17. Therefore "Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.''

You are right my brother and what does the Bible say of such who are blown by the wind?
Ephesians 4:14Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

People also allow themselves to be deceived and pulled away from the path everyday too.

We are in the world of self-deceit that we are too focused on ourselves to see the eternal truth. When truth speaks, there is not burdens but rather "The truth shall make you free"; that is, free from the woes, the yokes, the burdens. To avoid causing others to stumble is itself strong incentive to walk by the Spirit. Biblically, Christians are no longer "in the flesh": "You are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Flesh follows the rules while Spirit follows the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him" (Rom 8:9). "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." Galatians 5:25. The Holy Spirit dwells in me with all the power and gifts of God, necessary to enable me to walk the noble, spiritual, Son-like life with God. Being thankful releases me from fear and worry. The presence of worry could mean a believer doesn't understand who God is in order to trust Him. In my life, I have learned to trust every situation to God's sovereign control. "God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." (2 Corinthians 9:8). Reading 2 Corinthians 12:9 says "God said 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." First Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you".

The main thing to understand and remember is that Jesus is OUR SHEPHERD that He will supply all our needs (Phil. 4:19) and that He knows everything about our lives (Ps. 139:3), cares about us (1 Pet. 5:7), has the power for every difficulty (Ps. 62:11), is perfecting us to be like Christ (Phil. 1:6), and that nothing escapes Him (Ps. 147:5), that will lead us to be stable, not anxious living.

Miracle Storm: The board won't let me quote your post, but I did want to respond.

Firstly, the purpose of the GA forum is to debate apologetics. I think the fact that those of us who are non-Nicene-affirming members have only been allowed to participate in substantive discussions in the debate forums may give a rather undue impression that we are all ravenous wolves bent on destroying Christianity. In another topic this morning someone described what goes on there as "horrendous". I experience a certain sense of futility in realizing that for two years I have been allowed here for the rather narrow pupose of debating against Christain beliefs and then condemned as having taken part in something horrendous. :( Is it too much to hope that your overall perception of some of us will change once we have had an opportunity to interact with the Nicene-affirming Christians on this board in the absence of debate?

As for the younger Christians... There is difference between knowing about someone and the deep knowing of someone that comes from hours and days and years of working along-side that person in the same work and in the same spirit. Jesus spent his ministry among those who were the outcasts of his society. He spoke with them, ate with them, touched them, healed them, and held them up as examples of faith to the religious leaders of his day. If you have young Christians among you here, they will be stronger in their faith for having lived it out from the beginning in the Sturm und Drang of life amongst the least and the lost. Their faith will be the faith of a friend who has worked long beside a friend.

Is he being blown about the wind or being brought to a place where all can converse in peace and learn from one another and be uplifted?

Do you *really* believe no person to person communication happens here at CF??? Or am I misreading your post bro???

People also allow themselves to be deceived and pulled away from the path everyday too.
And this, perhaps, we cannot help. What we can do is get them started on a solid scriptural path.

Let's face it. Those of us with congregations of real people to fellowship with might not realize that there is a vast unchurched population out there. They believe what they read on the internet. They do not have any historical basis for their belief. They come to belief and then flounder without any direction.

Maybe without realizing it, Erwin created a reasonably non-threatening, non-scary place for them to fellowship and learn. But now he's ripped the rug out from under that population and left them to the hippy-dippy, elf-Jesus, church of satanism believing bunch who act as though they are filled with Christ-like love.

Well, I guess now we'll truly see the power of prayer, since that's all that's been left to us. So be it. We should get a group together to come pray over this place every day.
