To me, a sin is when someone purposefully harms another person. And I don't tolerate harming others.Tolerance isn't about accepting everything.
good question..i guess they wont matter much will they?? lol...The question is what will the faith icons mean anyway? They won't be used for posting purposes. All threads will be open to all members. What difference will the Icon make?

You a deconvert from Christianity has your own agenda on this board and it certainly is not to "Unite all Christians as One Body" or to learn anything about Christianity, but to share your own disbelief and the reasons why. Anyone who has read your posts in GA know this.

Which is GOING to happen. I am not as concerned as the athiest or other religions that are open about who they are as I am about those claiming to be Christian, but who are leading people astray. Just as a wiccan can now claim to be a Christain wiccan and we can't argue that position. Much confusion will be placed in young ones minds. Young ones in age and young ones in Christ.

you'd be surprised how many ppl have this as their only link with other christians. either theyve been hurt by ppl in church, or theyre ill or live somewhere remote. you'd be surprised.

It is true when a leader makes a radical decision many will object.... it always happens in Christian ministry..... its at times like these I do not miss being a pastor's wife. Ahh, but I digress. I think he is doing a great job and has my support.

ya...in one way i do agree..but the thing is..no two baptists REALLY believe the same thing anyway..lol..or not two Catholics..or not Two pentecostals..in reality..we EACH have our own individual beliefs when it comes down to it..i know i for one, dont believe every doctrine of my own denomination..and many don't. Which is why this change really makes lots of sense..allowing people to say whether they are christian or not without JUDGEMENT..Erwin is on the right track i believe..I like the many different icons, it helps me to understand that a person is coming from a Baptist perspective, a Lutheran perspective, or a Pentecostal.... what have you. The more faith icons, the merrier, I say.(I also think you shouldn't be able to hide them )
dude this aint middle ground. this is no longer a christian ministry. its a site where all people can be members and staff in all areas. for a christian forum that was TOO legalistic, that aint middle ground. thats the diamteric opposite. and it again leads us back to the question: how is this now a "ChristianForum"?Well, they shouldn't fear, whatever their situation is. Maybe a chance to make up with those people in those churches.
To be fair I think we still are in the middle ground. When you look at the breadth of opinions on how this site could be run, what is being done is less radical than some would like. As for those who signed up, for the first time ever they will be able to take ownership of this site in a real and meaningful way. And the way that the inital post describes things seems to suggest that different areas of the site could work in different ways, which I think is an excellent idea for a site which is so big, and is looked to to fulfill so many different and sometimes competing needs. I don't think the post was particularly theatrical, deadlines give us something to look to which I appreciate. When they shut politics a month or so ago, there was (and still is) no indication of whether it is being addressed or has just been trashed. It is a form of accountability. Hints, well the truth may be that Erwin himself is not fully sure how the full details of everything will pan out. I think he's given us a good start. He gave us some warning, and he is popping in now and again to give us more idea of what he is doing. I still think lending our support and waiting to see what happens is the best course of action.
Well, yes and no. We aren't doing too badly. With others I suspect that regardless of rules there might be problems with the way they post. With others still, they may change their minds when the dust settles. Again, we'll need to wait and see.

I actually believe that sin is something that's against love. Which includes hurting others, physically or emotionally. Well, I believe that sin always causes harm, that's why I don't believe that something's a sin when it doesn't cause harm, and instead results in something good.

Actually at least quote the whole thing. I think there was something in there about Love God? Maybe?No, it means you're misunderstanding my views
I just think that love is what's important. Someone in the Bible said that "love your neighbor as yourself" sums up the whole law, and I agree with that
