Jim, I totally agree that you cannot understand scripture without the Holy Spirit, but do you understand that with only the Holy Spirit you might drift away?

I'm with Yeshuasteddy on this - this thread is all about you, according to you. I want it to be all about what CF was supposed to be about - Jesus!

What are you complaining about then? Lack of control?

Erwin is one man, and he has made huge efforts to allow others to steer the direction of this site over the past few years, He has done everything including apparently taking a back seat on his own site. He thinks, and I am inclined to agree with him, that this has not produced the desired results, and will never produce the desired results. Given that his time is not limitless, and CF is not his only commitment, he has chosen to make some unilateral changes. Time will tell whether this will bring us closer to the desired vision, but it is not the changes alone which will make the real difference. It is also the attitude of each one of us posting here. Any attempt to do anything with this site could be undermined and sabotaged by those who wish to see it fail. If we value CF, I think we try and give it the best chance of success we can, and reevaluate as we go along. After all, we are now for the first time ever going to be able to influence what direction this site takes. Personally my own concern is not that it will be too open and free, but that once the site is rejigged, those of us who prefer to hide behind rules and legalism will pull the shutters down again and take us somewhere worse.




I think that is a little dramatic. This is a message board. What is there to be afraid of?



I think condemning something before you know what it is is wrong. However, people are free to come and go as they please, what is wrong is the attitude with which many are leaving. Many of the parting words we have seen on this thread have not been particularly kind ones.



It is not my intention to show a lack of love, and I apologise if that is how I come across. I'm just saddened by the hostility that so many of my brothers and sisters in Christ are displaying over this issue, and I want to call them on it, but I want to do it gently and with love.

i aint referrin to you specifically mate. if anyone can be bothered to trawl through 3 threads, theyll see crap behavior from both sides. none of it acceptable.

think back to the ribbon debacle. ppl left and then the issue was talked and complained about for WEEKS after it was decided. and that was about a RIBBON in ppls signatures. this decision is HUGE. ppl are reactin in kind. remember while this forum may be a wee distraction for some, for others this is all they have by way of fellowshippin. it matters to some more than others. so yes theyre justifiably scared.

erwin has whipped the rug out from under everyone. EVERYONE. but the ppl that love the new system are too happy to even see that.

People can take scripture and twist it to their own likings!! And just to please people the website you created has become tainted! People can say, "God is leading me." How sad that this world has forgotten that Satan comes in the Angel of light and HE can lead people off into the wrong path!

How many people will see how this website will make them spiritually sick, angry, or heartbroken? Or will they become blinded?!

Coming back here to even post this, I see the many heartbroken people on here. Your vision you created for "All Christians to be Reunited as One Body" has dispersed and evaporated only to be carried away by the past memories of once was.

I have seek God's forgiveness on how much time I wasted on here in the past instead of finding him in his own words.....the Bible! A Holy Book that will never alter by peoples own selfish cravings and unholy desires because it DOES NOT fit their "certain" lifestyle! You altered the website so it CAN fit peoples own selfish wants and unholy desires!
You gave Satan the keys to each and every door on the website!

Christ will be calling his Sheep away from here, and those who hear the Shepard's voice will respond and follow!!

Many are quite upset about the idea that people will now be able to pretend to be Christians with impunity, and thus deceive many babes in Christ.

Let's try to be rational here.

Before these ideas were even introduced, was every idea that has been shared on CF really Christian?

Obviously not, since a Christian's world-view is based on what the Bible tells us is true about God. Therefore, if there is something out there that does not agree with this written testimony, it can't be of God. Thus it isn't Christian.

Now then, as I see it we can either be irrational about this and threaten to walk away from a website because we don't believe it is Christian anymore, while knowing that it never really was Christian to begin with, since it allowed for the promotion of so many anti-Christian views, or we can take the power that Erwin has given us, and use it wisely, to make rules within our forums to counteract any anti-Christian thrust that may show its ugly face in our forums.

You can run away. However, the forum will remain, and people will continue to be deceived as they always have been, to believe that certain views are Christian when in fact they are not, or you can put together a group of people within your forum to establish rules by majority vote, that will at least make some portion of the website a safe-haven for those who belong to your denomination. Of course, that would NOT mean the rules that you all agree on are REALLY Christian either. It would just simply mean that the ball is in your court to use at will.

I realize that this is a sensitive issue; but we need to be mature about dealing with it. I too, disagree with some of the things that Erwin has said; but technically he has given us the power to counteract those things to some degree within our own forums.

So let's try to be consistent in our way of thinking, and do what we can to turn this thing around.

I don't think people will give much credibility to someone who just joined CF, and all post have been in this thread alone.

I'm with Lisa. Some Christians are using deception.....not something I'd want from a message board staff member.

My main problem is hypocrites in CF. I do have some concerns with some who are "professed Christians" in this world. Everywhere we go including within the Christian community, there will ALWAYS be certain group of people that will irritates and mock. As Jesus said in Matthew 7:20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

i dont need credibility. this aint bout me either. she and i spoke bout it. if you wanna believe im someone i aint cos it means ya can ignore what im sayin you have at it. makes no difference to me. ppl tend to prescribe qualities to others they themselves possess. what can i say.
