Except this is coming from a man who has been known to be gone for months at a time without any support for his staff at all.

Maybe he got tired of "petty issues" so he decided to be less legalistic so people wont' be so petty with issues.

To be honest, if someone wants to lie about being a Christian, they can do it now as well.

you know during these threads lots of times I have read "This is no longer a Christian web site"

But what makes a Christian website, the name, the programming or the people.

If we all leave then it won't be, but if we all stay and behave as we should, then there is no reason why this place can't be even more Christian.

You are aware that there have been many people leaving in pain from CF for a long time, right??

I don't care if people leave CF, if that's what they feel called to do by conviction of the Holy Spirit.

See, that's funny. I don't see a lot of the people who constantly cried about people leaving CF before because of CF's adherence to orthodoxy crying now when people are leaving because of CF's discarding of orthodoxy.

Not that that surprises me, because it doesn't at all. It's part of the playbook.

Tolerance isn't a religion, it's an attitude towards other people.

I agree.... there are efforts to popularize the Christian faith have been extremely damaging to the Christian communities because they have mistaken the desire to maintain a spirit of tolerance rather than loving the sinners but hating their practices. If we belong to Jesus Christ, we must hate the practices of sins. The ability of Jesus Christ to hate sin because it was sin that Adam separated us from God. It was sin that Christ died for. False teachings are teaching us to believe that to be good Christians, we must be able to practice tolerance and accept dark practices. Lately, there have been lack of teachings mentioning words of conviction, repentance and commitment.

i aint referrin to you specifically mate. if anyone can be bothered to trawl through 3 threads, theyll see crap behavior from both sides. none of it acceptable.

think back to the ribbon debacle. ppl left and then the issue was talked and complained about for WEEKS after it was decided. and that was about a RIBBON in ppls signatures. this decision is HUGE. ppl are reactin in kind.

Regardless of decisions made, stomping out in a huff is not the answer. I see the attitudes as more of the root of the problem than any decisions.

remember while this forum may be a wee distraction for some, for others this is all they have by way of fellowshippin. it matters to some more than others. so yes theyre justifiably scared.

My heart goes out to those people, but again, they do not need to fear. Christ will take care of their every need. If CF is truly not going to be a place where they can recieve fellowship then another way will be provided. I wouldn't have thought that there would be many people in this situation though?

erwin has whipped the rug out from under everyone. EVERYONE. but the ppl that love the new system are too happy to even see that.

I welcome the changes, I don't know if I would say I was happy. For one thing we don't really know what we're getting yet. We have the underlying motivation Erwin has given us and some brief intentions, but the devil is always in the details. We could be banding together as a group to support Erwin in an effort to remove some of the considerable problems which plague this site, and trying to ensure that the bits we value are not lost. I don't see so much of that. Some, but not much.

And this also was something God wanted him to do it was repeated over and over for a few years -and it doesnt match whats happening now so either God wasnt in it then, or He isnt in it now but it cannot be both:

Reasons:
1. To me CF is more than just a website, it is also a ministry, and this vision is something that only Christians understand and appreciate.
2. All our rules and policies, though it may appear generic, have foundations in Christian doctrine and the Bible.
3. This site is Christian forums and although non-Christians are welcome, the target audience is still Christians.
4. A large majority of Christian members will not submit to being moderated by non-Christians.
All of the above points can be challenged and counter-arguments brought forth, but this policy will not change while I remain webmaster.
