The sun and the moon are like the hands on clock, the big hand being the sun and the little hand being the the moon, giving us time, days, months, years & seasons.

On the flat earth model, the sun would always be visible, even in the middle of the night because light sources remain visible even if their size is smaller than the minimum our eyes can discern. Clearly that isn't what we observe.
On the flat earth model, people in the far South would see the sun rising in the North East and people in the far North would see the sun rising in the South East, however in reality they both see the sun rising in the East, another fail for the flat earth model.
That just isn't the case though. Try shining a torch on to a disc of cardboard in a darkened room. The whole disc will be lit up. Yes, the part of the disc directly below the torch will be brighter than the parts of the disc farthest from the torch.but those farthest parts won't be in darkness. An ant on the disc would be able to see the torch wherever it was above the disc. Similarly, if the sun were shining on to a flat earth, then it would be visible from everywhere on that earth (apart from the underside, of course, but I don't think I have seen you claim that people live on the underside of a flat disc earth).No it won't, as the sun crosses to sky in a circular motion this it what causes day & night;

You talk about what "they" are saying without saying who "they" are. You were writing in answer to my post where I had said that if the earth were flat, then the sun would be visible from all over the earth. I made no mention of anybody else whom you could call "they", so who do you mean? Anyway, you seem to have avoided answering my point. Why would the sun be invisible when it is night-time where you are, if the earth is flat?So what they are saying is that the earth has to rotate in order to receive day & night with our solar system travelling at 450,000 miles per hour.

There is no bible verse that says planets/wandering stars are included with the other stars, That's why I started my message, "I take stars to include..." not "The bible says stars include...."
Although language now distinguishes between "stars" and "planets" they come from the same root word, meaning "star", with a word meaning "wandering" added when planets were to be specified. I'm not sure whether you are saying that the planets don't exist, or that they do, but God didn't create them.-So you take stars to mean also planets.
Why if a planet is not a star, then why would God not single out, God also creating planets.
I mean how much trouble would it have been to add in planet to the sun, moon and stars in Genesis 1
