That is because what Luke wrote was said in the Temple to many Jews listening.

"And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? Jesus taught in the Temple as well as on the Mount of Olives.

Luke's account was slightly different, because Jesus was addressing the crowd at the Temple, and teaching them as well as in private with His disciples.

Perhaps you take stock in human theology too much, and have forgotten the actual Word of God?

His disciples did not ask him till he sat down on the Mt of olives.

Well,the bible doesn't say no one can understand it.

Really, the only thing Jesus told the disciples that no one knows is the day and hour of his return.

The bible does not say you can't know anything else.

No one is saying Jesus is coming back on a certain day or hour for only the father knows.
