I know that was Peter. Why did you think I did not? That was the most cutting remark he ever made and it was to Peter. The remarks to the Pharisees was general....no names mentioned. Sorry if you think I thought Jesus said that to a Pharisee. That was with Peter, not the Pharisees. The story I am thinking of is in John 8:30-59.
Yes. It is evil and adulterous and shall receive none.Amen. I think Jesus said something about a generation that seeks a sign.
Jesus said to judge a tree by its fruit. Jesus told us to beware false teaching which one cannot do at all it one does not judge what others are teaching. Jesus said to beward the leaven of the Pharisees. Pretty judgemental. Obviously the easiest way to be deceived is to avoid all judgement but believe everything. We can all judge the other guy for being judgmental; but we are judging ourselves. If judging is questionable, then the person who believes that and then goes and judges is sinning against his/her own conscience.
I do not consider it to be always a questionable behaviour to judge. It is judging according to the flesh and the outward appearance that Jesus spoke against.
He said to the Pharisees that their father was the devil and that they were basically murderers like their father the devil (my paraphrase). Jesus did not call Peter a murderer, the epitome of his statement to Peter was that he cared more about the things of men than the things of God. In calling him satan he was referring to the spirit behind what Peter was saying who was the adversary. satan means "adversary".I know that was Peter. Why did you think I did not? That was the most cutting remark he ever made and it was to Peter. The remarks to the Pharisees was general....no names mentioned. Sorry if you think I thought Jesus said that to a Pharisee.
Of course. Just don't judge according to the flesh or the outward appearance.Jesus said to judge a tree by its fruit. Jesus told us to beware false teaching which one cannot do at all it one does not judge what others are teaching. Jesus said to beward the leaven of the Pharisees. Pretty judgemental. Obviously the easiest way to be deceived is to avoid all judgement but believe everything.
Jesus called Peter "Satan" himself. Not merely the son of Satan, but Satan. Being a murderer is nothing compared to being called the Devil. Yes, Peter has on his mind the things of men. Jesus means rescuer. So? Peter knew what Jesus was calling him and it was not merely an "adversary."He said to the Pharisees that their father was the devil and that they were basically murderers like their father the devil (my paraphrase). I agree. Do not judge based on how much money a person has or how good looking they are or how educated or intelligent they are. Just them by their character.Of course. Just don't judge according to the flesh or the outward appearance.
So was Peter Satan at that moment? Or was Jesus addressing the spirit behind the man?Jesus called Peter "Satan" himself. Not merely the son of Satan, but Satan. Being a murderer is nothing compared to being called the Devil. Yes, Peter has on his mind the things of men. Jesus means rescuer. So? Peter knew what Jesus was calling him and it was not merely an "adversary."
Also, do not judge them by whether they appear to be drunk, if they have had no physical wine.I agree. Do not judge based on how much money a person has or how good looking they are or how educated or intelligent they are. Just them by their character.
You won't believe it but I was emailing a dear sister and one day she didn't like what I said and accused me of being drunk. I was so shocked. I told her so. She said, "hey no harm no foul." Pretty much ended the relationship with time. Also, do not judge them by whether they appear to be drunk, if they have had no physical wine.
I am not going to pretend to know the answer to that one but if Jesus ever calls you "Satan" I am sure the answer will be clear. So was Peter Satan at that moment? Or was Jesus addressing the spirit behind the man?
What behaviour did I do that warrants three fingers. Pastor Romaine has probably learned the error of his ways. It would have been better for him to use the teachings of Jesus instead of popular jingos.@Dorothy Mae, you judged @Hillsage and then said his behaviour was questionable in that he also made a judgment. You have three fingers pointing back at you, as Pastor Romaine might have said when he was on the earth.
Yes. It is evil and adulterous and shall receive none.
Therefore those who are seeing these signs and wonders must not be seeking them, and also must not be among those of whom Jesus would call evil and adulterous.
Pointing the one finger. The statement is based on Matthew 7:1-5.What behaviour did I do that warrants three fingers. Pastor Romaine has probably learned the error of his ways. It would have been better for him to use the teachings of Jesus instead of popular jingos.
That is true. That is right. And sometimes people do not put adulterous in the context of fornicating with other gods or spirits...
So where did I yell at someone saying I did not care what they called it? You want to judge me by the standard I applied to the other? Do so. Where? Otherwise that scripture does not apply. What does apply is: Matthew 18:14.Pointing the one finger. The statement is based on Matthew 7:1-5.
