  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Paradox of Calvinism and Arminianism (An Opinion)

I left the PuritanBoard because I couldn't reconcile my views with theirs. (Changed my e-mail and signed out forever.) I guess I'll call this 'Paradoxical Calvinism.' I'm going to post my five points. 1. We are totally depraved, indeed. Are we absolutely unable to choose Christ? In a way, yes...

Would you consider deification or theosis (θεοσις) to be controversial?

In Eastern Orthodox theology, theosis or deification is the process of taking on the qualities and likeness of God without becoming God. St. Athanasius said "God became man so that man might become God." What is meant by this is that humans become more and more like God, but, because God is...

    Reorganization

Poor organization of topics seems to be a problem for forums. Part of the issue is those posting do not stay on topic – sometimes because there is no specific topic provided for the subject. I am attempting to locate a category to post the topic “How important is bearing fruit?” The unrewarded...

WHO is the Prince of the Air?

God created all things; God makes all things new. Keep this in mind as you read. The ancient Egyptian sky-goddess, one of the Ennead of Heliopolos. She is the personification of the sky and of the heavens, the daughter of Shu and Tefnut. As sky-goddess Nut was portrayed as a naked woman covered...

Is God Father and Mother? Is God beyond gender?

In 2016, the first diocesan woman bishop of the Church of England said that God is neither male or female and that she avoids gendered pronouns for God. "According to [Bishop Rachel] Treweek, God should not be given a gender. During her October 26 inauguration into the House of Lords, she said...

Lucifer in Isaiah 14 can't be anyone

Devil Theory what John says leaves out any devil theory according to him it hadn't happened before the book was written! John says, 'things which must shortly come to pass and things which must be hereafter. ' Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his...

    The Suffering Servant

A very nice reflection of the nature of God with a special focus on the events commemorated during Holy Week and what they mean in a larger spiritual sense: The Suffering Servant

    Oriental Orthodox Theology of Iconography?

In the Eastern Orthodox Church we have a clear theology of Iconography, which explains why they constitute a part of our Church. This theology can be seen in the Seventh Ecumenical council, John of Damascus' defence of Holy images and subsequent theologians who have written on the topic. I...

    Hell-fire

If you die without Jesus, you will go to Hell. As Christians, isn't there a better way to evangelize to non-Christians? Isn't there a gentler way to evangelize to non-Christians? For example (just an example): "Heaven is a real place. God is real. Jesus loves you." What are your...

Air Conditioning Hell: How Liberalism Happens

By Albert Mohler Do we believe that hell is a part of the perfection of God’s justice? Are we embarrassed by the biblical doctrine of hell?...The lesson of theological liberalism is clear—embarrassment is the gateway drug for theological accommodation and denial. Be sure of this: it will not...

Ephesians 2:20 the gifts of Apostle & prophet were for the foundation of the church

“having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone,” (Ephesians 2:20, NASV). The apostles were only for the FOUNDATION of the Church, whilst the other ministries such as pastor and evangelist are for the entire history of the...

Is the Son of God eternal as Trinitarians claim or not eternal as Apostolics claim?

“1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: ….. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” (John 17:1 and 5...

John 10:30 I and the Father are one: does NOT prove Oneness Pentecostalism!

‘I and my Father are one.’ (John 10:30, KJV). ‘ego kai ho patar ev esmen: (John 10:30: The Nestles Greek text). ‘I ((Subject)) and ((conjunction)) my Father ((object)) are ((verb 1st-person-plural)) one ((adjective)).’ (John 10:30, KJV). Oneness people would need to explain the use...

The Oneness Pentecostals and the Baptismal Formula

    1. The exact wordings and even the Greek prepositions differ widely between these so called Oneness baptismal proof texts found at Acts 2, 8, 10, and 19. At Acts 2:38 we read “in (εἰς eis) the name Jesus Christ,” at Acts 8:16 and 19:5 we read; “in (εἰς eis) the name Lord Jesus,” and lastly...

Oneness Pentecostals claim that Jesus is God the Father!

‘Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.’ (2nd John 3). The text here reads; ‘God the Father.’ I point this out because certain Oneness folk have at times suggested that the term ‘God the Father’ is an...

Do Apostolics (Oneness Pentecostals) deny the Son of God?

“I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. I have many things to say and to judge of you: but...

Christian Music (and Skillet) - Compromised theology?

I just wrote an article about Christian music, highlighting the band Skillet - who has been around a long time - and to me, doesn't represent true Christianity. I listen to Christian radio and hear a lot of catchy music with wrong messages that I just could not take it any longer. I think this...

Are individuals born evil or made that way?

Hello everyone I'm pretty much new here and seeking some answers but also to bond with fellow believers on this site. But onto the questions.. "Never truly saved?"

I feel seriously bugged by this (among other things). Some say that if you turn away from the faith, then you were "never truly saved" or "weren't really Christian/were just pretending". How is that fair? Saying someone who honestly seeks answers, doesn't find them in Christ, and leaves the...

If yes, why would he create some human just to let them parish in Hell. Let's try and focus mostly on the doctrine of Election.
