  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jordan Korer - Two Lines [Indie, Country] (2024-09-29)

Hello folks. The YouTube algorithm knows that indie music piques my interest, so it found a country song by a new artist named Jordan Korer. Country is typically not my thing, unless it it old-school 1970s-early 2000s country. However, Jordan Korer's song "Two Lines" seems to go back to the...

Indie Cover of Tom Petty - Stand My Ground by Christian & secular indie band

Hello folks. Tom Petty made some good music back in the 1970s-1980s. :) One of them was "I Won't Back Down", a classic from 1989. 30 years later, an indie band by the name of Judah & The Lion covered the original. The music was changed from 4/4 time to 3/4 or 6/8 time and slowed down into a...

    Matter of America

I work for God and do a lot with music. One day, God gave me the idea for "Matter of America." I had been doing a variety of things for God one day, and someone was asking for a playlist of music on /r/christianmusic on reddit. I had been looking for themes of Fire and Fortitude. Through...

Bob Dylan and other Folk Singers

You may have guessed already from my Profile Picture that I enjoy the music of Bob Dylan. Along with a few other folk singers like Phil Ochs, Woody Guthrie and Lead Belly. Anyone else like Bob Dylan or folk? If you're a Dylan fan do you like his folk stuff or rock orientated material more...

    A Call From Somewhere North

At the time, the radio tended to dictate what music was popular, at least that is how it seemed. Compact Discs were still quite expensive, at least brand new. However, I came across a collection of CDs from Christian artists at a second hand shop. This was when I was still too young to have a...

    Folk Rock Christian Bands

I absolutely love the sound Rend Collective has. Very face paced, fun, and vibrant. Songs like Build Your Kingdom Here and My Lighthouse have become favorites of the congregation. As the worship leader, I would like to continue moving in this direction. Well my problem is that when i type...
