  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If Jesus could be turned into an Elephant, He truly could be the elephant in the room?

Hi there, So this is a crazy thought I had about Evolution. I am posting it here, because basically I hate getting mired with this sought of hyperbole: it's like the Holy Spirit says "you wanted to argue the point, make an argument, make a case". Only then the argument seems repetitive and the...

Really struggling with the idea of Hell

I've been a Christian for 3 and a half years, and for the first time, I'm starting to really wrestle with the idea of a loving God sending people to Hell. Throughout my life as a Christian, I've never questioned it. I've always thought, "Of course it's fair that God sends non-Christians to Hell...

Greater Knowledge But For Their Perdition...

In talking to atheists on the site, I did have a thought that came up yesterday in the back of my mind, namely if the web site really is beneficial for some. There are number of bible verses that suggest that we are responsible for the knowledge we have. The more we learn, the greater...

    Question about eternal damnation

Why did God create a place like hell to put "damned souls and spirits" in it? Isnt it more merciful to control/alt/delete those souls from creation instead of punishing them and making them suffer forever?

    I'm damned, what to do?

I never in a million years thought I would be writing something like this. I used to have such a good life, and I was always really careful with my life. This is really hard to explain and really hard to understand. It would probably be helpful if you don't try to convince me that I can be...

    It's been a while

School has begun. And I've never been a worse spiritual state than I am now. I don't want to repent, I don't even want to approach God. I've returned to my lusts. Although I do not fornicate, smoke etc. I gossip I lust I have bad imaginations. I'm starting to not beleive anymore. And the Hebrews...

Only a loving God would create hell!

I'm supposed be away on a meditative break, but I need to put my foot down on this evil! From: The False God Of The Modern Era | Christian Forums "Interestingly enough, the first appearance of the god of power in Christian thought, emerged in an argument for Universalism. A monk named William...

What do you think about fire and brimstone preaching?

WARNING: As the name implies, this thread talks about sin and damnation, and possibly one of the most scariest and unpopular doctrines of the Catholic Church! Below is the video that got me to revert to the Catholic Faith, I highly recommend that everyone watch it! That part about Wisdom 11:21...
