Hi everyone who decides to read this!!
Lucky you, you're in for a treat...
The church I grew up in (Baptist/Pentecostal) started going woke and seeker sensitive and it turned out to be worse than I thought... Perhaps it was gradually creeping in and I just didn't realize it. Upon participating...
Hi, would love to hear some feedback (both pro and con) on this discussion about Christian Transhumanism, Hyper Calvinism, Simulation Theory, Quantum Archaeology, Hell and the Lake of Fire. I also make a case for a literal interpretation of the Bible and the Calvinist worldview.
Bring questions and objections to the doctrine of election in Calvinism. Livestream starts at 5 pm EST. Rick is my friend and I'm very interested in people, especially Arminians (i'm neutral and do not hold a strong opinion of soteriology), to show up with questions/comments/objections to the...
If Arminians or Provisionalists call Calvinism unjust, are they trying to determine what God can and cannot do? I recently saw an individual argue that Dr. Leighton Flowers is judging God when he judges Calvinism, so I decided to make a video about the subject. Let me know what you guys think.
Hi Everyone! This is Chad from the Middle Ground. I've dedicated the past couple of decades to reading, researching, pondering, and writing about proposed Middle Ground positions for several major theological categories, Old Earth vs Young Earth, Arminianism vs Calvinism, Credobaptist vs...
For a long time I was a staunch Arminian. My Calvinist buddy and I would debate back and forth, each holding forth the “obvious” scriptures which supported our positions, and then doing as many hermeneutical gymnastics as we could to explain the opposing side’s scriptures. Although these...
This thread is not intended to be so much a round-and-round debate (though that could happen) but rather to "get the definitions on the table".
Essentially it is the issue of whether the Gospel invitation is for all - and "whosoever will" or is it a "selection" system where God "Selects" some...
Does regeneration precede faith, or does faith precede regeneration?
My position is that they occur together spontaneously, yet if you were to find an order it would be first regeneration then faith. I understand the moment of our conversion as the quickening of the soul, by the sole power of...
The basic claim Arminians make is "You must choose to believe in order to be saved". But you must already believe [have the Holy Spirit] or you would not choose to believe. And Jesus says whoever believes has eternal life. So choosing to believe is a quasi repentance that leads to true repentance.
Hello everyone my arminist friend has this argument against
1. unconditional election
2. Limited atonement
3. Irristible grace
I would love to know a well-versed Calvinists thoughts and rebuttals on this God bless.
Unconditional Election
Arminians dispute the Calvinist claim that election...
Does God's word ever fail? (Romans 9:6)
What I believe this means: God's call to salvation happens every time the Gospel is preached, people can reject God's call on the condition that they do not yield to the Spirit. (Just like how physical Israel didn't) Still the word of God does not fail...
I tend to loathe aspects of everyone's theology/soteriology, and am going to posit my own.
1. God foreordained those in Himself, yet He is not the author of sin, because He decreed such things once the Fall went through, therefore dodging the 'is God the author of sin?' question.
2. I believe...
Two people make real decisions in our salvation.
God chooses to save us in Christ.
We choose to embrace Christ freely offered to us in the gospel and so be saved.
There's no denying this. No Christian would deny this. Both Calvinists and Arminians agree to both (1) and (2).
The question is -...
