I tend to loathe aspects of everyone's theology/soteriology, and am going to posit my own.

1. God foreordained those in Himself, yet He is not the author of sin, because He decreed such things once the Fall went through, therefore dodging the 'is God the author of sin?' question.
2. I believe that most saints will persevere to the end, but that the possibility of apostasy is not out of the question. Rejecting Christ, I believe, is a willful voiding of grace. (Then again, was he ever a true Christian? I don't know.)
3. Election is unconditional, for God has the divine right to select and choose as He wishes, yet it usually coincides with people reading the Scripture, hence regeneration from realizing the truths of God's holy scripture.
4. The atonement is 'hypothetically universal,' in my opinion. Christ died for everyone but the atonement is only effective for the elect in Him. (Amyraldism)
5. Grace is typically irresistible, but I don't rule out the possibility of God using prevenient grace on certain people if they are His elect but they are stubborn.

There, my motley stew of soteriological shtick. Feel free to debate me. :)

FOREKNOWLEDGE of God is the cornerstone of most Arminians' understanding of predestination...

God foresaw those individually who would believe and persist in believing.

Corporately, God foresaw a CLASS of people -- believers -- these are The Elect.

The grace given to believe is not irresistible

(I'm no dogmatist; your belief in that is fine.)

Romans 11:5-6

That is not in the context of the Israelites. :)
