What is currently on your mind?

It's certainly wet. We've got a lot of areas near here quite flooded.

Right. Got to get on with the work day. Advent is coming!

I'm worried about the state of this country. Poor people are getting poorer. deception and corruption is becoming the norm. No legal aid for people anymore. Public services diminishing. The rise of cost of living getting higher. The rich get richer while they keep the poor in the gutter. I really miss the good old days. I thank God I'm not struggling, money wise but that could change at any time. I'm without heating and hot water but I'm still thankful I have a roof over my head and that I can still afford to feed myself. What we have now will be a luxury of tomorrow. Times will get worse as western societies continue to collapse.

Without heating, in London? That sounds rough.

London is warmer than the rest of the UK so I suppose it would be much worse else where without heating however London still gets cold and temperatures can drop below freezing during the winter months. I'm thinking more of my pet birds than I am myself because they will start to die if temperatures get below 4'C My pet birds are one of my hobbies I breed them in large indoor aviaries. I have thousands of pounds worth of birds at risk from the cold this winter and its all because of the council and there shoddy work which has left me with no heating or hot water and I still have to pay for the heating and hot water I'm not getting. It states quite clearly that they have a legal obligation to repair this within 24hrs but its been over a month now and with no legal aid they can do what they want.

Well, you know, better than most of the ecclesiastical options. I don't know why our culture seems to have this thing of putting people doing serious things (academics, clergy) in sillier and sillier hats the more senior we get.

It comes from a shared communal heating system. The issue is one of 3 apartments that it provides heat for and the person died in one of them and in the other nobody really lives there they just go there to lay there head and then they are off again for months. I am in the 3rd apartment and the heat is not reaching my property because the other two apartments are empty so a huge air lock has developed and there is nobody there to rectify it and the workmen can't get access. Its really shoddy plumbing this shouldn't happen but the problem with the Council is that they don't want to spend money, they cheap out doing things the cheapest way possible but then they have to spend more money correcting problems because things were never done properly in the first place.

Front wheel drive took the fun out of driving

That I spent too long here this morning.

Yesterday, I replaced my ca.10 year old modem and router. I started about 1 pm. The modem just required a call to my ISP to get it activated. The router was a horror. It connected with my cell phone, but I kept getting error messages on both my computers saying there was no internet connection. I tried a different ethernet cable plugged into different ports. I adjusted the antennae every was possible. I unplugged and replugged it multiple times. It finally connected with the computers, but loading web pages was slower than a snail in cold molasses. And it wouldn't connect with the TVs, or the printer. I called the customer service number. After 15 min. on hold, I gave up. I called my nephew, who's a gamer and very cyber savvy. He had nothing to add. Around 10:30 pm, I decided one last time to reset both the modem and router, Lo and behold, that worked! But he stress of those 9+ hours probably took a year off my life.

Electronics are evil. You can't live with them or without them.
