I wonder how many people here have me on "ignore".

I find most of what you say either hilarious or insightful. But I'm pretty sure people ignore me but keep me visible so they can watch me make an idiot out of myself, which is a sure bet.

What is your avatar, anyway? It looks like the bottom of a sculpture with two feet and a guitar. A memorial to a musician, perhaps?
Its the Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) statue in Dublin Ireland.

More a curiosity than an importance.

I could imagine various people getting frustrated with the content of my opinions.... or annoyed with my avatar.

I don't have you on ignore - not that that's in any way important... Lol

I gotta say that's a really terrible statue of him. Did the sculptor just run out of money or something? I'm met Phil once and he had knees and thighs and torso and all that stuff.

That was in 2008. I think they secured funding to proceed up to the hips since then.

I have no one on ignore. I think many people are way too thin skinned these days.

I've not put anyone on ignore. I suppose there could be a first time. I'm not sure what would provoke that response.

I put a lot of people on ignore, it was the best way to minimize the amount of "new posts" I see from the political sections since you can't put forum sections on ignore here.

And yes, this means I even have people I agree with politically on ignore too.

It's been kind of nice really... The only time it's a problem is when they post in the doctrinal discussion forums too, but most the people I placed on ignore don't post much in the Christian sections.

You can take them off your watch list:)

Hmm. Is this one of those Smullyan logic puzzles? We're on an island of knights who always tell the truth and knaves who always lie. If I see your post and answer "yes, I have you on 'ignore' and never see your posts", then PloverWing must be a knave...

No, but I saw Thin Lizzy play live around 1977. Still have two of their albums.

Just to be clear, when I say I "saw" them, it's to be implied that I also heard them. People always say "I went to go see this band" which leaves me wondering "Did they play their instruments for you or just stand there or what?" ha ha

But honestly, I might have met him. After the end of their first song, he shouted into the microphone "HOW YA DOIN' TONIGHT?" so I shouted back "I'M DOING VERY WELL. THANKS FOR ASKING. HOW ARE YOU?" There were 10,000 other people around me, but he could have been talking to me.

Sometime bands are too loud to hear properly. So you end up mostly seeing them.

I heard the Misfits circa '82. Most painfully loud thing I ever heard. I don't even know how they technically accomplished it. About 80% of the crowd fled the venue the moment they started. The ones that stayed stood far in the back away from the P.A. and listened with their hands cupped over their ears, which is kind of funny because if you know anything about teenage boys, they want to be tough and cool, but they couldn't handle it without covering their ears. Never cared for their music (or their costumes) but if rock bands get points for loudness, they win.

I guess sometime you play for the gut rather than the ears.
