Ball park it.
I did, in the very post you quoted. You don't need a really rigorous accounting to know that a vaccine which the data says is very safe is a way better risk than a disease which has spread to 10% of the population in a bit over a year.

Since 99% of the people with covid recover or never had symptoms, this seems unlikely.
The quote had nothing to about the fatality rate of covid, so you repeating this mantra has little to do with the discussion. I imagine it might be comforting to return to "only 1% die, only 1% die" when facts start coming up which run into what one wishes were true, though.

But if you'd like, feel free to try and back up your guess with some actual work. About 300 million doses of the vaccine have been given. How many people died from them? This will give us a mortality rate from the vaccine itself. Then you can compare this to the 98% you gave previously, or the 99% you're claiming now, survival rate of covid.

Fair warning - don't do this exercise if you want to continue honestly saying that the vaccine is more dangerous than the disease.

I have no idea what this question has to do with my post. I'm not convinced you would either.
Hey buddy! Some of us could not do the Chicken Dance for a whole day after the injection. He may have had similar concerns.

Uh, no.

A virus becoming resistant to a treatment does not make it magically more deadly.
Correct. But it could make us go back to having the choice of a lock down or the hospitals being overwhelmed. One of the factors in the deadliness of this virus was that the sudden surge in ill people in numbers greater than hospitals could handle resulted in many people dying that otherwise would have lived. One cannot say for sure that individual X would have survived if he was hospitalized and properly treated, but one can say that instead of 1,000 deaths in an area there might have been 500 or less.

I am sure that someone could do a statistical analysis of how many deaths were caused by overcrowding of hospitals. That was a situation that was avoided in most of the US. A new variation would likely be more deadly because we might not be able to afford to go into another lockdown.

This sounds like a good argument *for* vaccination. I would recommend getting vaccinated before every wedding reception you attend.

Senator Ron Johnson held a press conference on the injuries sustained by many people after they got the Covid shots. I am posting this for anyone who is interested in hearing the accounts of those injuries from the very people who have experienced them. It is not easy to listen to, but very informative.
This video is over an hour long, but if you want to skip directly to the testimonies from the people, it starts at exactly 13:00 minutes.
I don't expect Youtube will allow this video to remain on their site for very long, so either watch it right away, or save it to watch later.

People died when penicillin first came out---same even with aspirin---and they still do. Sometimes it takes a while to sort things out=---there will always be those that have severe allergic reactions. Some people die from eating anything tainted with peanuts. Sometimes it's a matter of are more lives saved because of it or not.

No can listen to every tale a possible adverse vaccine effect. Nor every tale of getting the vax and remaining covid symptom free. Not possible.

Probabilities drawn from carefully sampled data reveal risk. Not anecdote.

My sense is people are latching onto a few scary cases and then thinking theyve got a handle on the actual risks of taking (or avoiding) the vaxxes. Anecdote is worse than nothing when approached that way.
You know what I meant by that, in your snippet you cut out from what I said. Of course no one can hear or read every single piece of evidence in existence on any issue.

Clearly, I meant it is inappropriate to censor anyone speaking. Listen. Don't listen. Counter. Do whatever you like but when censorship arises, that is a concern in a supposedly free country (again, excluding the typical hindrances to communication....filthy language, inappropriate content, crime, etc. Rules are fine.).

You'd have to ask GOP leadership why they were pushing to reopen despite the risks. Seems irresponsible to me, but some of them seemed to favor the economy over the health of citizens : COVID-19: Texas official suggests elderly willing to die for economy

What does that have to do with opening schools to in-person learning?
The fact still remains that there were no Covid outbreaks in schools when kids went back to school for in-person learning. The kids didn't pass it around to each other or to their families when they came back home.

Still no reason to force something upon someone who isn't willing to risk dying from a vaccine that still isn't even approved by the FDA and is therefore still in the experimental stages of its development.

Oh, you were really trying to compare "redness at the injection site" to dying from covid? I assumed there was a more substantive argument forthcoming.

Maybe I should have spelled it out for you. I've been posting in relevance to the OP.

No more than I would compare dying from the vaccine with mild congestion.

As deadly as before the treatment was developed. You seem to want to keep things as deadly as if the treatment never existed.

Great...

10%...so how many is 2% of that 10%, then express that as a percentage of the total US population and then we're approaching a actual chance of dying of covid.

Nobody is forcing anyone to have the vaccine.

Is there a religion that puts "scientific data" (often skewed), government mandates and shaming above all? Lots of people here seem to subscribe to that one.
I never saw any passages in scripture where Christ told us to listen to what "experts" say, or to believe whatever the majority of people say. However, I do remember Him saying things about how the majority will hate you.

Then you should read better. The Bible says to love God with your whole heart and love your neighbor, yet I see supposed Christians love themselves over anything else. Will the Son of Men find faith when He comes back? Not in most parts of America because they can't even follow hat Christ wants. As Christians we are not to look out for number one but all anti vaxxers "Christians" do just that love number one even above all else.

The Atheists, Pagans, and Seekers are acting more Christ like than many Christians on here. At least they are following loving their neighbors
