That deep time is not added as "needed", but is based on measurement and observation.
Amazing what you can see and measure when you need to, isn't it?

If something gets in the way of progress, like maybe a Bible verse or doctrine, don't despair; some "new discovery" is just around the corner.

A bible verse blocking progress? A bible verse is as good at stopping progress as a dandelion will slow down a truck at full speed.
Not at all.

Not so "amazing" to anybody with a grasp on reality.
There is a tree in front of me. The fact that I see it, is not amazing.

As if a bible verse could get in the way of anything.

Progress happens.
One day you are harnessing a team of oxen to your plough... and the next day someone invents the steam tractor.

Sure does, doesn't it?

One day abortion is considered murdering a child in the womb.

Then an amazing discovery!

It's not a child, it's a fetus!

And abortion gets legalized.

Are you going to declare that we do not have modern tractors? Or are you going tom take the stance that modern tractors have always existed?

One day abortion is considered murdering a child in the womb.
Huh? Yes, That day being whenever a culture embraced xenophobic nationalism.

Then an amazing discovery!
Please do tell.

It's not a child, it's a fetus!
So no discovery at all. Only a game you play with timelines.

And abortion gets legalized.
So you have reversed reality several times here AV.
Abortion was common for centuries. And then it was criminalized.

Just curious, why don't you ever offer a Bhagavad Gita verse or a Tripitaka verse or doctrine as "evidence" to counter biological/geologic/astronomical/physics theory?

Oh, my.

You want me to throw in the Necronomicon, A Course in Miracles, Egyptian Book of Shadows, and Satanic Bible while I'm at it!?

One day abortion is considered murdering a child in the womb.

In English, colonial and early American custom, the fetus was not considered alive until the quickening. Abortion before that point was legal.

The term is used in a metaphorical sense in the KJV. Again meaning when life begins.

Colossians 2:13
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

Sure. That's called the human ingenuity. Our tendency to gather and accumulate knowledge.

Here is a picture of a university library.

It gives you a sample of the knowledge we have gathered. And that is but one library out of many.

Pffft. I'll show you a library:

John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Except that all these books ("if they should be written") never have been written. Empty promises are but only empty promise.

Just potentially less people to ride them.

The problem with our rural/farm economy is not a lack of people. People have been shed from rural America for generations. So the tractor driving population is not an "abortion issue".
