Yes, it appears we disagree. I would go with your notion of a literal temple if I found any real basis for it in prophecy. I just can't find it, with the exception of this one passage and a few other passages with an obscure reference to God's Temple.We see 2 Thess 2:4 differently, but it's OK. I disagree with your metaphorical rendition of the text. For it to make sense given the context of Paul's narrative, it has to be literal.
On the other hand, NT theology seems to forbid any notion of a restored physical temple, since it had been patterned after the true Temple of God in heaven. I will concede that the issue is less than clear to me, since I'm not sure where Paul was getting his language of the Temple from. Thanks for the discussion.
