We've had liberals in charge before. It's nothing new. The country's survived just fine with both liberals and conservatives in charge.
Yes, it has "survived", but it's very sick. The two sides just differ on what has caused it.

Obviously, we differ in opinion here. You think it is failing because if the right, I think it is failing because of the left. Trump is slowing the left down (that's why they hate him). I want the left to continue to be slowed down. You want the right to be slowed down. We are opposites.

But the Right was in control of the Senate for the past six years, had the House for eight years until losing control just a couple of years ago and the Supreme Court has been conservative leaning since at least 2017 and even before that Anthony Kennedy was less than reliable for liberal hopes. The Right has been in charge of a failing America for a while. Why should we give them more time to run a failing country?

I'm not very keen of most of those running the country on the "right" either. Most of them are contributing as well. There's a lot of people I will be voting for that I would much rather have someone else for. Unfortunately, they are the better of the two, and at that is all I can do at this point. Next election we can try again to have better candidates.

So why do you have a flag with a blue stripe for your avatar?

It is in honor of Two local policemen who were shot just recently. One is recovering and the other died when he was shot in the head as he laid wounded on the ground.

It is in honor of all first responders, including my son in law and daughter who put their lives on the line every day for us.

It is in honor Of the dozens of police officers shot since March.

Thank you for asking, I always like sharing and letting people know how very important police are to us.

As for the rest of your post, we obviously disagree. I believe Joe Biden is not good for the country and am too much a gentleman to say what I think of his running mate.

There is a link in my signature that explains why I am voting the way I am voting if you are interested.

America is falling
Too bad the incumbent is powerless to stop this now. Therefore we should re-elect him for another 4 years of being powerless to do so.

I think this is what happens when mutually-contradictory rationalizations for following a guy there's no good reason to follow crash head-long into each other.

I read the link in your signature “Why I am voting the way I am voting.”.

Your blog title speaks for itself “Why I Cannot Vote For A Democrat.”

From the blog it is very clear that you are not voting for Trump, you are voting against democrat. You couldn’t put even one sentence what Trump did or want to do that makes you support Trump. You couldn’t even put “Trump is an honest man or a capable leader that is why I am voting for him”

But you are not alone, most of my friends, co-worker, acquaintance, church member voting for Trump. But when I talk to them, they never point out anything Trump did or going to do to make them support Trump, it is always how bad the democrat are, so they have no choice but to vote for Trump.

This is why I am voting for Joe Biden – Joe Biden is a decent man with empathy , time and time again over last 40 years Joe Biden proved he can work across the political spectrum ,his political opponent who worked with him over the years has nothing but good things to say about him. I agree with Biden foreign policy, I agree with his style of civility and political norm ( he just doesn’t only peach it but over 40 years he has demonstrated that) . I have no illusion that Joe will make everything better but what I am looking after this election is civility and political norm which has been the bed-rock of our democracy. I hope that Joe Biden will try to bring those back.

Here is one of Trump supporter has to say about Joe Biden

If you read some of my other posts, you would see that I said I said Trump is slowing the left down, and the left are the ones doing the majority of the damage. No one is completely powerless to stop things. Anyone can help make a difference, and that is what Trump is doing.

Two things, actually three;

First, thank you for taking the time to read my blog. We might disagree, but I am honored you took the time to read it.

Second, If the Democratic Party put forward a candidate that proactively addressed, those issues, I would give them serious consideration.

Third, I vote on issues more than personality. The person seeking the office matters to me, according to where they stand on central issues. Trump was not my first choice, in fact, he wasn’t my choice at all until it came down to Trump v Clinton.

Biden Was Obama’s boy and followed lock step. He is a good second man, but not a leader IMHO. He also lands on the wrong side of many important issues IMHO.

The whole personality war with Trump is tiresome and it feels like I’m going through some type of middle school nasty girl tv episode.

The hatred level has risen, in my opinion, to a level that is far beyond the pale. There is zero, nothing the man can do that people will not find fault with. Why? Not because of any facts or truth, but because of learned hatred.

So yes, I am supporting the President because of his stance on issues.

I’d rather pound nails in my forehead than vote for Biden.

I call it the most important election in a long time for pretty much the opposite reason. America is falling, and if the liberals win big, it will likely be all over.
I’m curious how you jive that with the fact Trump is currently the president. Upon what do you base the idea things will be in any way improved after November 3rd?

Yeah, just think how wonderful it’ll be when President Trump no longer needs to placate other people and rule the way he WANTS, without having to worry about how it might “look in the polls”!
Why, it’ll be handing him carte blanche, just imagine all of the wonderful things he’ll be able to do, unfettered and with total power!

That’s why I’m voting for Biden!

Don’t be ridiculous. Trump will still be watching the polls because he is going to run again in 2024. Who’s gonna stop him from running roughshod over the 22nd Amendment? McConnell? Other Republicans? Don’t make me laugh.

No matter what happens November 3, there is only two ways Trump won’t run in 2024, he is dead or in prison. Otherwise, win or lose this November, he is going to run in 2024.

Thank you for replying. I can see where you are coming from. I disagree with you but I respect your choice.

I agree with you about the “ hatred level” in this country. Both sides think other side is the enemy of the Country. I may disagree with the issue you care about or stand for , but as long as I can accept that you want “best “ for this country as much as I do , we can have a dialog. Problem is one side think other side want to destroy the country.

Any way .. have a wonderful weekend.

So many seem to think everything that is wrong with this country is Trump's fault. There's a guy I work with who always says "I blame Trump" if he makes a mistake or something doesn't go quite right. That's kind of how a lot of people are. Doesn't matter what it is, if it's bad it's Trump's fault. No matter who wins, I think our country will still be in a bad spot. But I'd much rather have Trump in charge then whoever is in charge of Biden.

I’m old enough to remember what it was like, going two or three days without having the thought, “I wonder what the President did/said today that going to have the internet fired up?”
Good times!

Funny how that really has nothing to do with what I said.
Trump is the kind of person who speaks his mind. Could he use a lot more self control? Yes. That's something I haven't cared for through the last three and a half years. But at the same time, it's also nice to see someone who doesn't pander, and isn't afraid to offend someone by what he says. People in America these days tend to get offended or their feelings hurt over so many petty things. It's ridiculous.
Trump's not afraid to upset the apple cart, and I do like and respect that about him.

“Thanks, Obama” has been a favorite utterance in my part of the country when somebody has a goof.
