There is nothing in scripture that forbids interracial marriage. However some, particularly in southern churches, pointed to Noah and the curse placed upon Ham, the claim being that he was the father of the black race. We know it is rubbish, but some believed it.

I don’t live in California. Are you saying that churches there are forbidden from online services, outdoor services, parking lot services? Many churches here have been doing that. I don’t see any churches around here that have completely closed their doors.

You know exactly what people mean. The Churches are forbidden to gather together and all the other silliness you said is not gathering together. You try outside services and car services when the heat is greater than 100 and online is not meeting. The stupid state has absolutely no right interfering in Churches, period. The state is led by Satan who hates Churches gathering together to worship. The stupid Governor doesn't even want us to worship in our own homes and has said as much.

So what I said is silliness? Are you always so rude? My Bible tells me that we are to "be kind to one another." That means you don't tell people that what they are saying is "silliness," particularly given that what I mentioned are exactly what churches here have been doing. No, I don't "know exactly what people mean." I made it clear that I'm not from California. That is why I'm asking. What you are describing is not happening here.

That maybe where you live not where I live. We are absolutely forbidden by Newsome from worshiping God. Here in California it feels like we have no hope left and many of us are counting on Pastor MacArthur

It's hardly surprising. I was born again in 1971, so I have watched how the church has been changing for nearly 50 years. Sadly, not for the better. There are some shining lights, but fundamentally the church is reminiscent of Laodicea, especially in the Western world. The gospel has been watered down until it is near meaningless. I think Paul Washer is a bit extreme, but he has a point.

Yes, we are living in difficult times. Paul warned that there would come a time when people would not endure sound doctrine. (1 Timothy 4:3). So we have people flocking to "prosperity" preachers, people who excuse sexual immorality, a divorce rate little different from the world, and there is much disunity among the believers. Why would the world take us seriously? Yes, we are saved by grace. But there is certainly the law of sowing and reaping. Until and unless the church repents, it will be less and less relevant and less and less tolerated.

Anyone know where Laodicea is? Sardis? Ephesus? The 7 churches in the book of revelation were all in what is now Turkey. You can go and see the ruins. I suggest Google Earth, Turkey is Muslim and Christians not especially welcome. Is that what is in store for Christianity in the western world? We'll see.
