Kuwaiti Jewish Convert Receives Unexpected Support But What About Him Moving to Israel? | Al Bawaba
The reason I put the question mark was because I’m sort of weirded out by this, I’ve seen many Arab Muslims converting to Christianity or becoming atheists, but I’ve never seen anything quite like this before. Can you even convert to Judaism, what are your thoughts on this?

Even the Bible implies anyone could convert into Judaism.

Note, that Judaism is originally Pharisee. The Bible states the Pharisees could indeed make converts from even overseas (from a distant lands, very possibly non-Jews).

Lots of people convert to Judaism. Depending on who performs the conversion any number of Jewish groups may not recognize it. Right of Return to Israel is more a matter of Israeli law.

Thought it happens every day in the United States and around the world?

From the article.
He also expressed his hopes of moving to Israel once he finishes what he described as the legal process of becoming a Jewish man.

I would think that he would be welcomed with open arms in Israel.

I can’t view the web above in my place. I know generally from the perspective of Judaism (Chabad) , Muslim need not to be Jewish but can become Noahide Muslim. Muhammad could be good to spread out the Noahide laws to Muslims.

of course anyone can convert to Judaism. The framework has been there since at least the first century bc. All denominations of Judaism (except Messianic Judaism) have established standards for conversion. But the only conversions recognized across all denominations are Orthodox, Haredi and Chassidic.

The process typically takes a year or more. There are classes, the kashering of the home and kitchen utensils, and going thru all of the feasts and observances. That is then followed by ritual circumcision (men only) and a dip in the Mikvah (equivalent to baptism).

Well, that all sounds pretty good except for that (for men only thing!) That's a real commitment (as performed on some grown men in the Bible).

I don't drink anymore but, I think that would be a good time to start drinking again.

if you were surgically circ'd as a child, what is done is a needle is used to draw out one drop of blood (from a very sensitive spot)

I believe he converted to Orthodox Judaism. As he’s supposedly become extremely devout and practicing in adherence to Jewish Law , atleast that’s what I heard in an Arabic video detailing his conversion. What’s the difference between the three sects in general?

There are more than 3 sects of Judaism.

the 3 that i listed, Orthodox, Haredi and Chassidic, are at the top of the list as to religious observance.

Regular Orthodox still engage in society and life. Some wear the black robes and hats and others wear regular clothes but usually will also wear skull caps and have the fringes. They work normal jobs.

Haredi are the same as the black hat orthodox, but are very insular and try to distance themselves from the surrounding society. they spend most of their time in Torah and Talmud study, and in Israel mostly live off of stipends from the state.

Chassidic are also black hat and robe, but instead of study of Torah and Talmud, they study the Zohar, Tanya, and other mystical texts. I suspect many in the chassidic communities become demonized (I have seen it in their eyes) by their concentration on mystical spiritual power.

In addition to those, there are also Reform Judaism, (very liberal), Conservative Judaism (fills the huge gap between Orthodoxy and Reform) and Reconstructionist, which is strictly a social Judaism devoid of Deity.

There was another notable Arab convert to Judaism. Abraham.

Which Abraham are you referring to? The biblical son of Terah or a more contemporary one?

As far as the Torah is concern Arabs are not even a people back in the days of Abraham. Neither were the Jews. Abraham is a Shemite one of the three sons of Noah
