Trump loses appeal to avoid Congressional subpoena of his taxes

President Donald Trump on Friday lost his appeal to stop a House subpoena of his tax documents from his longtime accountant Mazars USA.

In a 2-1 ruling, the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit upheld a lower court ruling saying the firm must turn over eight years of accounting records.

Note this is separate from the Manhattan DA case, where Trump is appealing a decision that he has to hand over tax records to them.

As much as it would suck to see the impeachment train slow down a little, I almost sincerely hope that Trump’s taxes are as clean as a whistle and the only thing we learn is that he is flat broke.

Lying to the public is one thing, but Donald often touts his wealth and assets to the few banks out there still willing to lend him money. If he lied to them, that's bank fraud -- a felony.

And that was one of the claims by Cohen, when he testified before Congress. Cohen claimed that Trump inflates his assets when applying for loans but claims minimal assets when paying taxes -- it could be that is a fear of Trump, that he could have fraud charges waiting for when he is no longer President, and even have it added as an Article of Impeachment. Not to mention the issues with emollients, particular a look at conflicts of interests in policies he's made.

Indeed, as no bank in this hemisphere will lend him a dime (price of touting bankruptcy as a shrewd business strategy), Donald is in deep to certain banks on the other side of the world... all either in or who deal with nations that he's been very chummy with over the last year or so...

It's a bit ironic that instead of Donald Trump voluntarily turning over his tax returns (as he repeatedly promised to do), they're going to be grabbed without his consent. It's a practice he should be familiar with.

House Oversight Committee reaches deal with Trump over financial records

The House Oversight Committee has reached a deal with former President Donald Trump to end litigation over Trump's financial records, according to a filing obtained by CNN.

"After numerous court victories, I am pleased that my Committee has now reached an agreement to obtain key financial documents that former President Trump fought for years to hide from Congress" House Oversight Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney said in the release.
