when you are married, your attention is split in two, the lord and your wife, you try to please god at the same time you occupy energy to please your wife

God may intend for you to be single. Are you willing to submit to His will rather than your own?

The Bible does not say everyone should be married. I am unable to locate all of the applicable verses, but some of it is in 1 Corinthians 7.

A fine prayer and one that I prayed for many years.

I would pray and ask God to pick one for me and not let me do the choosing and mess things up.

He (HE) did answer that prayer.

I agree. We should always submit to His will. If God has intended for someone to remain single, He is also gracious enough to give the gift of continence so that person is able to bear singleness, does not burn with passion and struggle with self-control. At the moment, the OP does not want to be single and is wanting to marry and asking the Lord to bring a him a wife.

Praying for the Lord to give you a wife. I have also prayed the same too and still waiting for the Lord in his timing to provide one

Might want to use this waiting time in preparation such as studying/improving knowledge concerning Bibical marital guidelines, finances, communication skills, home maintenance, etc.

Praying for Godly spouses.

I am sorry that you are going through such a hard time right now. I was right where you are in 2003. I wanted a wife more than anything. As I explored the scriptures, I came across Psalm 5:3 "In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly." What He told me was to stop looking for a wife and start focusing on Him. It took four years, but the more I focused on Him, the less I looked for a wife. I spent time in His Word, praying, fasting, serving, and worshiping. When you do these things, you will attract the right kind of woman...a Proverbs 31 kind of woman! However, we have to be a Job 31 men.
Then, all of a sudden there she was! Our rehearsal dinner was exactly four years to the day that He called me back. We have been married for 12 years and have four children! She IS a Proverbs 31 woman!
I will pray for you!
