I'm worried about my fish. He's a betta, and he's not been well lately. He's never been a particularly active fish, but since earlier this year he's been seriously ill. He barely eats. He has a hard time swimming, let alone staying upright, so he hardly swims at all. His scales are starting to pinecone. I've looked up what it could be that he has. At first I thought it was dropsy, but he isn't experiencing all the symptoms (no swelling, bulging eyes, spine deformity, etc.). We've (that is, my mom and I) moved him to a smaller tank to make it easier for him to get to his food, and we've started changing his water more frequently. I've done everything I can and everything I know to do.

Maybe it's childish to ask for prayers for a fish, but I'm concerned about him. Any prayers that my fish heals from whatever it is he has (or at least stops suffering so much) would be much appreciated.

It's not childish. I used to keep goldfish, you become attached to them. They are part of God's beautiful creation, God cares for them too. Hope your little friend gets better. God Bless :)

I had a pet goldfish when i was a young lady and when it died, I cried. The Father loves your beta fish and your prayer is not childish at all, I don't think. I pray you will be given insight and wisdom on what to do.

I'm sorry about your fish :(
Something you might want to try if you don't do it already, when I had a beta that started getting really lethargic I started using bottled spring water in its bowl instead of treated tap water and it helped him become active and start eating again.

 It's not childish or insignificant or any of those things. I'm so sorry about your Betta fish. I love these beautiful creatures. So does God, our Creator Who created them. Praying for your precious Betta, and you too. (((hug)))

Cute!U can ask prayers for anything does not matter if big or small requests God will hear. And no it is not childish to ask of this for your fish.
I love fishies and had pet fishies and still love fishies.I will pray for your pet fish.
I hope that your fish lives a long time and will not die.
I read a story on someone paying to save a fish and it was alive.
God can heal!
Take care!

Bit of an update on the fish.

Dad read something on the internet about giving the fish brief baths in epsom salts. That didn't help much.

I went to the pet store a few days ago and talked to an employee about what was wrong with him, and they recommended an antibiotic. We've moved him back into his regular tank and have been administering an antibiotic. He still isn't swimming a lot due to his balance issues, but then we've only been giving him medicine for two days.

I don't think so. Everything I've read says he would look fuzzy or velvety if it were a fungal infection. His scales are still pineconed, but he doesn't look velvety or fuzzy.

Thanks for the update on your fish.
It was good u tried to go ask what was wrong with your fish. Good that u guys tried to see what else that can help your fish until it really helps.Hope all goes well!Good thing there are things to help with fishes.Keep it alive and always whenever if u got new fishies. They are the best pet’s all dogs and vets got fleas fishies got no fleas good for blood pressure looking at them.
And they are cute.
Too much trouble I heard for dogs and cats they have to keep putting things on them preventing fleas and when they have fleas their owner and all over the house has fleas. If they take them out and on the bus can transfer fleas to people’s if they are not having medicine to prevent fleas.
Yes appreciating pet fishies I know u are.
