Prayers For My Pet Fish?

I'm worried about my fish. He's a betta, and he's not been well lately. He's never been a particularly active fish, but since earlier this year he's been seriously ill. He barely eats. He has a hard time swimming, let alone staying upright, so he hardly swims at all. His scales are starting to pinecone. I've looked up what it could be that he has. Dad read something on the internet about giving the fish brief baths in epsom salts. That didn't help much.

I went to the pet store a few days ago and talked to an employee about what was wrong with him, and they recommended an antibiotic. We've moved him back into his regular tank and have been administering an antibiotic. He still isn't swimming a lot due to his balance issues, but then we've only been giving him medicine for two days.
