Barr testifies 'spying did occur' on Trump campaign, amid reported review of informant's role

Attorney General Bill Barr testified Wednesday that he believes "spying did occur" on the Trump campaign in 2016, as he vowed to review the conduct of the FBI's original Russia probe -- and the focus of a related internal review shifted to the role of a key FBI informant.

I guess we all kind of suspected this?

Barr testifies spying did occur on Trump campaign

Barr steadfastly refused to comment on how he came to his conclusions in he 4 page memo or whether he had already briefed the White House on the Mueller Report - but he was more than wiling to speculate that "spying did occur" by the American intelligence community on the Trump Campaign!

If he has concrete proof, produce it - otherwise he should get down on his knees and provide the American intelligence community a huge apology!

This appears to be Round 1 of the Trump strategy to undermine the Mueller Report's findings by having his 3rd Attorney General assert that the whole investigation was based on a false premise - which just happens to coincide with the conclusion of Barr's unsolicited 19 page legal opinion that he had submitted, as a private citizen, to the DOJ in June 2018.

The same should have been provided when they first began this monstrosity more than 2 years ago for Trump. They had no reason to believe there was any collusion on his part. In fact, they did have reason to believe Hillary did, but they never wanted her in trouble.

Of course, Barr didn't say spying occurred. He said he believed it happened, but offered no evidence to support his belief.

But then his job depends on pleasing his boss.

It was the best he could do, given what he had.

And now people in the Ukraine seem to want to spill the beans on how Hillary colluded with them?

This just keeps getting better and better by the day. ^_^

Ukrainian law enforcement officials believe they have evidence of wrongdoing by American Democrats and their allies in Kiev, ranging from 2016 election interference to obstructing criminal probes. But, they say, they’ve been thwarted in trying to get the Trump Justice Department to act.

Given the fact that Manafort did his best to keep the Ukrainians under the thumb of Moscow, I'd be pretty cautious of any Ukrainian "help" if I was Trump. Looks like a trap to me. And so far, no one has found any democrat contacts with Ukrainian agents remotely like the Trump Tower meeting of Trump Jr. and other Trump campaign officials with Putin's agents, over "dirt" they claimed to have on Hillary Clinton.

Given Trump's people like Manafort were doing their best to interfere in the Ukrainian elections, being paid by agents of Russia, it wouldn't be surprising if the Ukrainians were returning the favor.

It's worth running down, but like those dozens of indictments of Russian agents who were trying to get Trump elected, good luck on ever getting those guys into court.

Who has denied law enforcement had been using surveillance to investigate potential crimes?

You can usually tell how "true" something is just by the reaction of Democrat politicians. ^_^
I gotta say, though, the Reps are nearly the same. Politicians are actors on a stage, full of sound and fury (and serenity, as needed) signifying nothing.

As seen from up top the mountain.

Democrats will not be able to hold up to the same kind of scrutiny that the Trump Administration has seen.

Well, that's a testable claim...

President Obama, after 8 years of republican "scrutiny" has one of his people with one indictment, the lowest of any recent president.

Hillary Clinton, after 4 years of republican "scrutiny" had no criminal indictments at all.

Trump, after two years of investigation, has 55 indictments of his appointees, second most corrupt, after Nixon.

Someone's not holding up so well...
