I was wondering about the previous comment because it has been my experience that liberals, not conservatives in general, care about social justice, political and economic issues that affect minorities.
It has been my experience throughout my lifetime that liberals are more generally concerned and compassionate toward minorities, women, the poor, non-Christians, and LGBTQ. It's been liberals who are consistently involved in social justice and political issues for minorities. On the other hand, it has been conservatives who are consistently demeaning and mocking social justice and political issues for minorities. I've learned over the last three decades to consider any conservative who shows even the remotest interest in social justice or political issues for minorities to be an exception and not the rule.
I suggest you get out more then. You brought into a stereotype, and that's rather sad. Yes, it is called bigotry and prejudice just of a different flavor that seems to be talked about today.
Conservatives and Liberals come in all different packages, and certainly are not into the 'group think' that seems to premiate the media, Hollywood, etc. All humans have different packages despite the stereotypes that seem to be popular.
I have been more than just concerned most of my life, and I have worked with and for many arenas that are considered 'social justice' today. Have dedicated years full time to it. I have found today many aspects of these issues aren't spoken enough about, and most that consider themselves concerned don't have a clue about many of the dynamics. NOT their fault, because it's not advertised. Yet, it does show a basic superficial level of compassion and concern. It certainly isn't just liberals that are guilty either.
I have heard nillies that mocked and demeaned as well, and it wasn't just from those that were considered conservative. I always called them ignorant and felt sorry for them. They never were the HUGE number of people that is constantly claimed today. Although 'huge' today can be constant or fluid today so you never can tell what people mean by it anymore.
Although, today's liberal has a different definition than in the past. True liberals could see people in most cases had the same end goal, but recognized people had different approaches to the goal. Different approaches didn't mean hate. It didn't mean they were being demeaned, and they certainly didn't treat people that thought differently as evil. Something that was more important? They always had hope, and could see good. That never seems to be the case anymore, and I would guess we aren't speaking of liberals. What is even sadder if people never have hope? They can never be happy, and I think that is true cause of the division today. Stink sells more.
