I can't imagine what possessed him into thinking that hugging the American flag was a good idea for a photo-op for him. He really does look foolish hugging the flag and smirking like he did in the photo.

The news of all the false claims in Trump's CPAC speech isn't surprising. He's even more dishonest than he was in his CPAC speech last year: Fact-checking Donald Trump's 2018 speech at CPAC.

Hugo Chavez, former president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, also hugs flags! He was infamously corrupt but whatever, if you hug your flag then that means you really sincerely love your country, deep down in your heart & are the mostest patriotic of all no matter how unpatriotic & damaging your actions. /s

this reminds me of his state of the union speach where I was like, "Man I like alot of what he's saying, and agree with it....now to wait to see how much he's lying, excagerating, taking out of context, or quote mining.

That's just the thing, if you don't care about facts, Trump genuinely is appealing.
We live in a world where a sizable percentage of the population takes conspiracy theories and the most half-baked ideas seriously. And this isn't even a left or right issue, necessarily- alot of Americans, some of them the most educated, are not vaccinating their kids, for instance.

yeah, like one video I saw of someone acusing liberals of loving sex trafficing because trump claimed to be stopping it....something that wouldn't fall under his jurisdiction and is the kind of thing of, I will wait and see the evidence." because the woman in white didn't stand in ovation at that.
it's like his talks on the border, if he was telling the truth about the sex and drug problems there then YEAH I might agree with him, but most of it is fake, made up, out of context *pointing to how many deaths ignoring most of those deaths come from drugs across legal points of entry or made IN the us." to be made to sound worse then they are.
at this point if trump told me the sky is blue I would have to wait for the ny york times fact check on that.
